Hi there, Does anyone know the title or anything about this song which i've heard live somewhere? featuring the Lanegan and maybe Nick Oliveri on acoustics.. The lyrics go something like " I throw myself upon the tracks, I take a leap over the edge, I don't attempt to figure out the why or where I just don't care, it's only love.....

i'm trying to find the thread about this song. Maybe it was talked about on a non-related thread and thats why i can't find it. Someone that actually has a memory should respond to this. The song was done at the Urbino gig (02-08-2002) and it is floating around somewhere in download land. Um, i'll try and find more about it if no one else will before me

I think it's just... a mystery.
That's the only time it was performed, and it never got released on anybody's album.
But the Urbino show is what it's from, and the other musicians are Nick Oliveri and Troy Van Leween or however he's spelled.

I think of it as the Robot song even though the lyric really is "rope"...

This is weird. I have that entire concert, but song 3 is missing - something I never noticed until now. But I've had song 3 for quite a while now. I remember how I got song 3. I have no idea how I got the rest of this show, but apparently I have this entire show. if anyone is interested PM me. But I'm sure if I have it, it is very likely an easily accessible show!

I was just going to post that. I am listening and I have heard the "Robot" song, but just realized that it is not here. Too bad. BTW the link above has a link that goes to Megaupload where you can snatch the show (missing the tune in question, but still worth it).

that's weird. The show got posted on 2 occasions. I got it the first time, and that's how I found 'this song'. Then I posted (just) song number 3, then someone posted a link to the show sans song 3.
that's how it is

Does anyone know anything about the festival that this performance is from? I'm assuming that QOTSA must have performed another day at the same multi-day-festival that this is from, but.... I can't find any reference to it.

I dont recall ever seeing the original though if it was done by a fan. welcome aboard!

Love that song. Parts of the lyrics (the chorus) have made it into the Song "Spinning in Daffodils" by Them Crooked Vultures. I always wondered how that came about. Sure, Josh/Mark-connection somehow; but how exactly Wouldn't mind the unmixed studio version at all. Maybe we will hear it someday. There was a lot of old stuff we got on Has God Seen My Shadow? and Houston
