I already posted this over at the European tours part, but then thought I'd better repeat it here, as it has new single news, all that kind of thing... this was sent out last night anyway! === Mark recently completed a European tour, and we are pleased to announce a US tour, with a massive tour being booked for late October, right through to the beginning of December, which will include dates in Australia, going right across Europe- see the dates below, there are more to be added! 'Hit The City' from the 'Bubblegum' album will be released as a single in November to coincide with the tour. It will be released on 7" and CD, and will include two new unreleased tracks, 'Mud Pink Skag' and 'Mirrored'. Over in the US, Beggars have launched a minisite, which includes a competition to win signed artwork by Mark - head over here www.beggars.com/us/marklanegan/2004/bubblegum/September 28th Chicago, IL - Double Door 29th Detroit, MI - St. Andrews Hall October 2nd Philadelphia, PA - North Star Bar 3rd Washington DC - the Black Cat 4th Boston, MA - Middle East 5th New York, NY - Mercury Lounge 10th San Diego, CA - Casbah 11th Los Angeles, CA - El Rey 12th San Francisco, CA - Great American Music Hall 14th Seattle, WA - Showbox 15th Portland, OR - Doug Fir Lounge 20th Melbourne – Corner Hotel 21st Sydney – Gaelic Club 23rd Brisbane - Festival 26th Brussels – Ancienne Belgique 27th Bochum - Matrix 28th Amsterdam - Paradiso 30th Stockholm - Mondo 31st Oslo - Rockefeller November 2nd Luxembourg - Kulturfabric 3rd Frankfurt - Batchkapp 4th Berlin - Kalkscheune 6th Vienna - Arena 7th Munich - Backstage 8th Stuttgart – Die Rohre 10th Treviso – New Age 11th Rimini - Velvet 12th Rome - Horus 13th Milan – Rolling Stone 14th Berne - Reithalle 16th Barcelona - Razzmatazz 18th Zaragoza - Oasis 20th Paris – Trabendo Theatre 21st Brighton – Old Market 22nd Birmingham – Academy II 23rd Dublin - Ambassador 25th Belfast - Limelight 26th Glasgow - Garage 27th Manchester – Academy 2 28th Leeds - Cockpit 30th Sheffield - LeadmIll December 2nd London – Shepherds Bush Empire Mark Lanegan Beggars Artist Section www.beggars.com/artists/mark_laneganMark Lanegan Beggars Banquet forum beggars.bway.net/forum/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=51

I got all the dates on a proper official sheet and everything - there's also some dates still tbc, which when we get confirmation, I'll post, but expect a few additions here and there - we've just had CDR's handed out of the 'Hit The City' single, so I'm gonna get that on the stereo now.... it's all happening! I'm happy Mark is coming back to London, as I didn't make it to the Islington gig last time - and Shepherds Bush is a much better place as far as gigs go (sound wise, especially!)

jo doesn't get things wrong. ohhh I do! A lot... I actually sent out this mailout with the subject header of "Test" which thankfully got deleted in time... PHEW! Not the end of the world or anything, but my mistakes are always kind of stupid, and sometimes quite funny... I mean, imagine, a Beggars news update that just says "test" tsk

Jo, that list of US dates is still missing a bunch which tickets are being sold to. I have to assume those other US dates are real, since tickets are on sale?
I haven't gotten the mail out at all, but I thought the Beggars US site was giving away a signed CD, not artwork? How screwed up am I?

I haven't gotten the mail out at all, but I thought the Beggars US site was giving away a signed CD, not artwork? How screwed up am I? I asked for updates from the US people, and that was all I was given... I'd think that maybe nobody has told us they're confirmed yet - but thanks for pointing that out - I'll check up on it and make sure either way - the US office are usually pretty quick at replying! The actual site says "enter to win an autographed ultra rare pressing of Bubblegum" which doesn't really indicate if it's vinyl or a CDR... I'll double check on that too - I'm not sure where I got my information from for that - I wrote most of the Lanegan stuff (bar the tour dates) last Friday... I'll double check on that - it might be it has changed slightly, like, maybe a white label pressing, signed by Mark, or something like that! so we're all sort of right... I'll let you know when I know! cheers jo

Thanks, Jo for the update. I'm waiting anxiously for confirmation of the second Portland, OR show since I have tickets and all. Two shows in a row in Portland and one in Seattle would be a great way to spend a weekend :-)

This tour schedule speaks volumes about Americans' bad taste in music. The U.S. can't support more than 12 Lanegan dates? What's wrong with this country?
Personally, I blame Hilary Duff.

Yes, I'm an American. It was typical American ethno-centrism for me not to mention that!
And Europe is beautiful. I don't know what they have against ice cubes, but that's not much of a complaint.

The U.S. can't support more than 12 Lanegan dates? I know, that does seem fairly sucky. I do however applaud the fact that Beggars is obviously willing to support a much larger tour than he's ever done solo before. I'm sure it all has something to do with what HE wants to do, but it's good to know that the label is behind this and has enough confidence to really promote this time. I know I always whine about not getting information quickly or reliably enough, but whining is in my nature. I do believe in giving credit where it is due, and this gi-normous tour is a good thing. Thanks again for all the info Jo!
