You were the daylight, you were the transience of night. Future of progress, future of all I would posess. Drags me down. Whispering Eyes sing, we've got a million ways to spend our time our time Could this be distance? Could this be anything but truth? I am a lost son, I can be anything you need. What do you need? I am a lost son, I can be anything you want. What do you want? I am a lost son, I can be anything you need. What do you need?

That's all right then. Can't have him losing control due to some sort of power supply incident leading to an electrifying scenario.
We're not insured for that.

That's a relief, although it does ruin the 'having to shape up because you need a man' joke somewhat.
All of which reminds me, here's hoping the Gutter Twins (if I remember right, Jeff & Dave both mentioned this in their blogs last year) play that on the telly next week.

theres that early 80s song.. I dont remember the name but it goes:
saddle up! and ride your pony. saddle up! doop doop doop dooroo
Its a terrible terrible disco song but for some reason I have a fixation with it (why is beyond me cos its slightly before my time) where I want someone with a deep voice to cover it. I think that would be ace, and if it was ML that would supertripledoubleace

"Further On the Road," Springsteen as interpreted by Johnny Cash. These lyrics almost seem as if they were written for Mark, and the simple melody would suit his voice well:
Where the road is dark And the seed is sown Where the gun is cocked And the bullet's cold Where the miles are marked In the blood and the gold I'll meet you further on up the road
Got on my dead man's suit And my smiling skull ring My lucky graveyard boots And a song to sing I got a song to sing It keeps me out of the cold And I'll meet you further on up the road
Further on up the road Where the way is dark And the night is cold One sunny morning We'll rise, I know And I'll meet you further on up the road
Now I've been out in the desert Just doing my time Searching through the dust Looking for a sign If there's a light up ahead Well, brother, I don't know But I got this fever burning in my soul
Further on up the road One sunny morning We'll rise, I know And I'll meet you further on up the road
