why do people who give up their child / or not in their child's lives decide to tattoo the initials / picture of their son/daughter on their bodies? Does it make them feel better that they couldn't hack it as a parent, or do they want a permanent reminder of what they gave away?

i am in desperate need for someone to explain that whole rock-paper-scissor thingie because, really - what the fuck??? see? none of YOU know either, do you? You just come up with a smart looking concept but when push comes to shove, nobody really gets it..... bah, Americans! I'm not quite sure what your asking for Lungsey but ummm....? It's easier than drawing straws and involves less counting than Odd's & Even's.

THANK YOU!!! Now.... how does paper beat rock?

Well, I believe paper is supposed to wrap rock, therefore beating it, but this makes no sense to me since rock can tear through paper (especially if you throw it really hard at the person insisting paper beats rock).

Whatever happened to emos? They were everywhere, but I don't recall the whole thing phasing out....maybe they're just the hipsters now and are still hated as much as they were way back then.

Emos were what made me feel 'old' for the first time. I wasn't particurly aware of them when they wre around so I guess I haven't noticed they disappeared...
Are there highschool aged "hipsters?" It seems like an early 20s phenomenon to me... I do admit to liking lots of hipster stuff (like XMU and Modcloth and Etsy) but I don't identify myself as one, mostly because I am definately of post-college age.

Yeah, emos were more highschool aged, which is why I wondered if they had aged along with me and were the early 20's people trying too hard. I think being post college makes you ineligible, mostly because you probably have a job and I've never seen a hipster that did anything but spend all day acting like they were way cooler than they really are.
And hipsters didn't invent DIY. It's okay to like it still.

I would ask how many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Roll Pop, but I'm stuck on what the hell sort of candy are Tootsie Rolls supposed to be? They look sort of like tiny logs of shit, and taste like nothing else I've ever encountered. So, I ask you, good people, what the hell are Tootsie Rolls?

From the Tootsie website : "Tootsie Roll, offers a perfectly-balanced cocoa taste", "the number one-selling chewy chocolate candy in America" - cocoa? chocolate? CHOCOLATE? These things don't taste like chocolate! It gets even worse : "been made with the same recipe since 1896", and "Leo’s recipe required the incorporation of the previous day’s Tootsie Rolls into each newly cooked confection, a graining process that Tootsie continues to this day. As such, there’s (theoretically) a bit of Leo’s very first Tootsie Roll in every one of the sixty four million Tootsie Rolls that Tootsie produces each day." Ewww, 114 years of yesterday's batch, no wonder they don't taste like chocolate! Wish I'd never asked.

There is some sourdough bread that that uses starters decades old.
I had a dream about Tootsie rolls last night, actually. It was one of those "get in the elevator and every floor is a completely different world" dreams and one of the floors was ART SCHOOL and there was someone who's studio was literally full of empty cans and tootsie rolls, like a ball pit. There were "caramel apple" tootsie roll pops too.

That actually sounds delicious...
It's amazing how our perception of chocolate has changed in 114 years. We've become so desensitized to sugar...
