The man was a legend - there are literally hundreds of bands that owe their careers and status to this man. He will be sorely missed

I'm gutted. A truly sad day. I can't believe it. I used to see him every morning with his head buried in his newspaper (completely oblivious to traffic) when i worked at the beeb.

Just back from the Black Keys. "Teenage Kicks" was played right before they came on. They played a wicked set "thanks for coming out everyone and thanks to John Peel". Everyone went nuts. Halfway through the set they thanked him again and then dedicated 'Grown So Ugly' to him. It was special.

An outdoor amphitheatre surrounded with trees with grass terraces and like a standing 'pool' bit in the centre (of course)- so ... hopefully that'll be cool... Outdoors is a really good thing in my case..
