funny that without all the 'Terror' propaganda which the republicans are peddling onto a nation of imbeciles, the rest of the world can quite clearly see that Bush shouldnt even be CLOSE to getting re-elected...
what IS the war on terror?
what's it all about? man from one place does bad thing. so blow up a couple of countries from the same continent...? 'hmm, maybe they've got weapons?' 'hmm, Iraq sure seems like a great place now' 'hmm, maybe they're funding them...?'
i only wish Britain had launched a war on terror while people from the US were funding the IRA to blow up chunks of my country... (although this is not a political minefield i would want to get too bogged down in right now)...
how did a former alcoholic with an IQ of around 90, whose main qualification is his father's (pathetic) presidency, get to be the most powerful man in the world?
how is it possible that he could STILL be the most powerful man in the world tomorrow, after sending his men to die for a fight they dont believe in, and running his country's economy into the ground?
if you had a world-wide vote on the next US presidency, Bush would get about 10%...
he is not just running the US into the ground, he is making the world a more dangerous place every single day, in terms of the environment, the global economy AND in war.
in summary, what a prick.
so the lawyers will be out and democracy will not be served again. Gore got more votes than Bush, yeah? but Bush is the president?
Go Democracy! Yeah!

The Guardian recently sent letters from people here to random people in the 'swing' states. many of the replies were along the lines of "i don't give a fuck what you think of our foreign policy. i don't care whether you live or die, you yellow toothed tea drinking assholes." but are you voting for kerry, though?

Ya see. I feel that this election should be a world election. Like a reverse World series. If he is the leader of the free world then maybee all people who are free to do so should vote. Seeing as the president spends all his time on foriegn Policy and National Security and not very much time at all on social or economic problems then give us a chance to vote as well. You see we don't have much of a choice over here, Blair party, some right wing old farts who used to have power but now no one knows who they are and Blair is more right wing than them, or the Liberal party who are probably the best of a bad bunch but have no policies and because no one thinks they have a chance anyway no one votes. Bush will get in, I just have that feeling that he knows something we don't. I feel sorry for all of us. Hopefully I will wake up tomorrow and be pleasantly surprised.

The rest of the World might see Bush as an unelectable dangerous idiot, but the US's "heartland" doesn't. It doesn't help that the Electoral College system of voting is perhaps the most stupid thing ever devised, as it would seem (to me at least) that the actual population of the country doesn't actually get to vote for who they want to make all of their life and death decisions for them, but they vote instead for the people who will then make this decision for them - and in some states, these electors are under no obligation to vote in accordance with the majority decision, or (as in this case, can decide not to vote at all). And that's even before the whole "1 vote in Wyoming is worth 3 votes in California" strangeness... According to Wikipedia, all a candidate needs to become President (under "ideal" circumstances, although this fortunately hasn't happened yet) is a mere 23% of the actual votes cast. Not very democtraic, if you ask me... As for tonight, Bush will either win outright or it'll drag through the courts until Bush wins. There's the whole "better the devil you know" thing, plus Kerry's reluctance to actually say what he's going to do about several major issues... I just can't see Bush being ousted.

you european fuckers.
this thread was about basketball.
so get with it.......
and i agree with everything you all say, except for the "nation of imbeciles".....
it's not really a nation of imbeciles, it's just that the imbeciles are concentrated in the middle of the country (i.e. heartland). usually it's good to keep them isolated in there, but when it comes to election politics, it's not so good.
so fuck off and let's talk some roundball. football sucks major ass and you all know this.

NBA Questions:
Will the Pistons repeat? Will the Lakers suck? Will Shaq bring the Heat to the Finals?
On a side note, in defense of the "imbeciles" in the midwest, I'm not aware of any other states that have Kindergarten Cop as their Governer besides California.

I used to be a huge Sonics fan... but then George Karl went away and that whole big mess happened in the NBA and I stopped watching, focused on baseball but now I think I'm going to give the Sonics a second chance. I think they'll be mediocre like they have been for the past few years. I really think Nate McMillan should NOT be coaching but, eh, what can I do about that? Football is ok karlito. I'll watch the occasional college football game but rarely a NFL game except I've kind of been keeping tabs on the Seahawks this year since they're kicking some ass. Baseball is my favorite though and I'm sad that it's over. But I'm SO glad that the Red Sox won. Yah Sox.
