Hi all, www.triplej.abc.net.au/on the radio here on friday morning there will be a Mark Lanegan acoustic set (probably 2 songs?) and interview. You can listen to this on-line by clicking on the link above and the 'listen' icon on the website. The time is between 9 and 12 Friday morning Australian Eastern Standard Time, work it out for yourself if you're interested...

Excellent!
Can someone please record this (from the radio) as I'll be at work and my reception at home is crap anyway?
Would love to get a copy in lossless audio (ie, shn or flac, not mp3).

FLAC is similar to mp3 except that it doesn't lose any quality.
You should try and record directly onto your computer by connecting your radio to your soundcard...

I didn't, but someone I know knows someone who did. If I get hold of it, I'll sort something out.

That would be cool - was it recorded from the radio or the webcast?

I'm not sure, but my guess would be it was ripped straight from the web stream.

holy shit.
they've re-played this on the radio with a post-script on what was happening in the background...
aparently mark was having some kind of fight with the guitarist (who was in tears!) beforehand, hence the real tension in the interview.

thats fucked up.
i still can't fathom yelling at someone (who looks so tough) until they cry. he must be one scary ass mutherfucker when he's mad (i guess he's also 3 metres tall which may help with the intimidation).

Someone told me he's not that tall. Can someone be bothered to tell me his hight in m.?? I read somewhere that he's as tall as my sister-in-law.

This probably isn't the best place to make a first post, but hell, where is? Long time Lanegan fan, just thought I'd get in on this little thread. I saw Lanegan outside the Tivoli in Utrecht, and he can't be any taller than 6 feet 1 inch, or 1 metre 85.4 centimetre or so. I didn't approach him. I have this thing whereby I hate being approached by strangers, and I like to practice what I preach. A few minutes earlier and, well, that's a different story. He made the guitarist cry? Are we talking about the boy with the full-on beard? That's unnecessary, but what the hell can he have said to make a grown man cry? It'd be great to have a recording of an angry Lanegan tearing strips off the guitarist. I've heard that gig where he tackles the heckler ("I don't come down the docks and slap the dicks out of your mouth when you're working", possibly originally a comeback by Bill Hicks, but could easily be a general insult, Hicks was the first I'd heard use it), but even that isn't exactly frightening. Have any of you actually met the man? Of course public figures, or personal heroes are gonna maintain some sort of decorum when meeting fans, but what were your impressions of the man? Quiet loner, or bitter, disturbed sociopathic singer-songwriter with good friends? diecheerleader, are you serious about your last post there? Obviously I'm new to posting here, but did you really play drums for Lanegan? And how did he make you cry? Loud shouting, insults, what? I'm genuinely really interested in this, because I've played in bands, and shouted at them quite a lot, but no member has ever cried. Also, and of course everyone is different, but I've had run-ins with people who would make Lanegan run for cover, and they don't scare me, so what is so frightening about Lanegan? Is it the fact that he is Mark Lanegan? Is there a sense of - "I must get this 100% perfect" (which is only natural in a band anyway, you've got to be able to play well, and each time it should be to 100% of your ability anyway)? Or is Lanegan a picky, "You didn't play that note properly", type perfectionist (which, by the way, he should be, in my opinion at least)? I find the latter unlikely, because, and no offence to anyone here, as amazing an experience as it is to watch Mr. Lanegan perform live, it's hardly perfect, is it? Always incredible, but never perfect. Again, only my opinion. Mr. Lanegan, you are a quality singer-songwriter, up there with some of the best, and only destined to do better things in your future releases, but if your eyes happen to be looking at these words on a screen, I have a question for you - Why are you making your band cry son? Oh, and if you need someone to take over the role of chief insult merchant, I'm the boy for the job. I can sing too, two birds, one stone. T. This post should be seen as semi-sarcastic. The points are serious points, the questions are serious questions, but there is sarcasm in there, just in case anyone is annoyed by anything in the above. Thanks. Mark "You lookin' at me?" Lanegan, pictured above, having turned the volume down on Shelly's mic. Again.
