badmotorfinger is good, but I think (as is the case with most Seattle bands) Soundgarden's best music was recorded pre-Nevermind. Check out the early stuff like Ultramega OK and Louder than Love. And Kyle Petty is kind of similar to Ty Cobb, if you're into songs named for sports figures with lots of Chris swearing!

That's right, Chill loves Cornell. I can honestly say I've never heard him sing billie jean... Sorry the cover of Billie Jean was up on his myspace page, but now it's gone. I'll try and find it somewhere else and post it so you can hear it.

Two things are popping into my bean right now. One, I don't understand the title of this thread (well chris, you got your wish). It connotes that somehow Mr. Cornell is deserving of these horrible threats. If that was what you were hinting at by your less than subtle title, then shame on you, Piz. Nobody EVER deserves to have their children threatened. Ok, I'm off the soapbox....
Two, Louder than Love is still my favorite album by SG. It's too damn good. It also helps to prove my theory that every SG album has a total clinker on the playlist (Big Dumb Sex, Spoonman, etc..)

why else would he join audioslave? why else would he pose for these fashion magazines? of course he craves the limelight, hell why was he always showing his chest in every single soundgarden press pic? of course the fucker desires the limelight......well sadly he is getting a taste of the other side, I do not in any way justify what these weird psychos are doing, but this kinda shit has to be expected......welcome to the big leagues asscl0wn !

I think Soundgarden were the bigleagues. Audioslave is definitely NOT the bigleagues. And i totally agree with bunghole, any man who takes off his shirt and poses in magazines must secretly want his kids to be threatened.

SG is not even on the same planet as Audioslave in terms of record sales, promotion and popularity.....sadly. Soundgarden was a band......Audioslave is a corporation. When your face is constantly on MTV and voice is heard on every radio station in the country and on the covers of magazines music and fashion, this catapults him into a different stratosphere from Kim Thayil, Matt Cameron and Ben Sheppard. And when you chose to become that you must expect the bad side as well. Did anyone ever think maybe its an angry Rage fan, from their perspective HE is the only thing thats different and maybe he fucked up the Rage boyz.

So does anyone here think B-sides will ever be released? Naming a greatest hits package A-sides is kind of a tease if you ask me, but I know how easy it is for plans to change.

Kim Thayil, Matt Cameron and Ben Sheppard And Hiro Yamamoto, of course (I don't think Jason ever recorded anything with them). On the SG B-sides thing, I'm surprised A&M haven't cashed in already, as there's a wealth of stuff on the flipsides of their various multiple-released Limited Edition singles, as well as the whole Satanoscillatemymetallicsonatas bonus disc that Europe never got. Then there's the Peel Sessions (at least Nirvana released a track or two from theirs*) Sup Pop Singles Club edition of Room a Thousand Years Wide (B-side: HIV Baby, fact fans!) which shows just how good a song can actually be without tons of overproduction... Not that I'm arsed - I have both Nirvana's Peel and Goodier Radio 1 sessions in their entirety on various bootleg 7"s. Mmmm... brown vinyl...

HIV Baby is also on the Born to Choose Compilation...I got that one. And SOMMS was so limited edition that I gave up on ever finding it.

And Hiro Yamamoto, of course (I don't think Jason ever recorded anything with them). I think you are right, but I do remember them possibly having a different drummer for the "Deep Six" Recordings. I'm sure I could find it if I looked it up, but I don't think it lists the players in the CD notes.

And SOMMS was so limited edition that I gave up on ever finding it. Was it? Cool... Although I theeenk only Into the Void (Sealth) was an exclusive - all the others can be found on various single releases, although I can't currently be arsed to rummage to find out (except to note that Stray Cat Blues is a Jesus Christ Pose B-Side) .

Most of my SG B-sides came from a bootleg I bought around 1999 called "Digging the Garden of Sound" (lamest name ever, I know ) It has 16 tracks total, so I guess this has most of what a potential B-sides album could ever offer. There was a time when I thought I'd be able to track down all of their actual releases, but finding this CD was good enough for me!
