youtube.com/watch?v=7L_gRyywpjY&feature=relatedBombora - The Atlantics One of the most underrated surf bands. This was their only hit to cross over to America, but they were as big as Dick Dale and the Del Tones over in Australia. Also, it is a perfect time capsule of the late 50s - early 60s Bohemian Pop Surf Culture in LA and worldwide.

1) great choice, the visual strength of the video is huge. Very moving. 2) if you purchase this cd, the rest of your collection will selfdestruct. And if you look with your hormones turned down a notch, you'll notice that she's not really poledancing. She dances around a pole, it's different. I've done more complex moves with a pole..

She dances around a pole, it's different. I've done more complex moves with a pole.. indeed. but she is fucked up on drugs and having a mental breakdown. i own the album. Blackout. downloaded it though. i can confirm for you right now, that it is the best 'popular artist in self-destructive media-hating meltdown' album since In Utero / Vitalogy. but with more sex. and divorce. ..and you cant disagree because you havent even heard it. seriously. it starts with a woman going out and having one night stands.. (Gimme More), and it ends with total redemption her accepting everyone else was right about her marriage and the mistakes she made (Why Should I Be Sad). -it's a life lived under a media spotlight. -it's a young mother. -it's a mental breakdown. -it's drugs. we're talking the subjects of masterpieces by Nirvana, Marvin Gaye, Skip Spence, but on a much bigger 'pop music' scale. for an artist at her level to do this. fuck. it's like if, y'know, Michael Jackson had done anything that related to his life in the last 20yrs. it's the pop album the world has been waiting for, but people are scared to admit it. it's the most rock n roll album ive heard in years. even the album title, 'Blackout'.. as in '4 Month Media Blackout', the original title for Nirvana's Radio Friendly Unit Shifter... a song about pop music and having to sell units. oh, and musically and production-wise, it's more complex than anything on the Gutter Twins album. and if any of you have actually heard it, and disagree... go and crawl back to your indie rock 'fashion music' hellholes and die.

It's not as if they were the same in any respect, but a quote I heard once fits:
"People ask me if I could do it again, what would I change? I say, pal, if you lived my life, once would be enough."-Frank Sinatra
