I e-mailed one of the djs at a local radio station (94.9 in San Diego) because she was playing some P.J. Harvey and I was hoping she would play some of ML's stuff. She e-mailed back today (about a month after the e-mail) and she said she didn't have his cds. Is there a way to get them to her?

Line those dj's up against the wall and shoot 'em. Then send in some ML cd's.

It would have been easier for Radio DJs to play ML stuff if they didn't park the (unopened, unlistened-to) promo copies of his work on eBay as they did with Bubblegum before its official release...

There was a radio station over here that played Methamphetamine Blues at least once... ...Not long after, it was bought out and turned into a sports news station. A coincidence? Eh, perhaps... ...or perhaps, a CONSPIRACY! That’s what I’m bettin’ on.

I called the local radio station a few years ago and asked them to play some Screaming Trees... The guy laughed at me and didn't even know what I was talking about... He thought I was making it up...I decided then and there that the place I live is truly creepy...

When I get the equipment I need, I'm going to make an Internet radio station that plays Mark Lanegan.

Also, isn't there some alternative rock station in Ireland that plays Lanegan?

Isn't it the label's job to "get Lanegan to radio stations"?

yes. probably. Beggar's Banquet is a tiny english label, though, so they may well not have the contacts. also, Biffy Clyro, a (fantastic) Scottish band who are beginning to do quite well for themselves, are on the label, so Beggar's Banquet may well think that their promotional abilities are better spent on a band that they feel they can promote without too much hassle.

Tiny labels and self-released stuff seems to be on the rise. Or, perhaps, more people I listen to are doing it now....
