So i want to ask a question and it is about books but i don't want to put it in the book-thread because i would have to dig that up and i have no idea where to begin on that particulair thread. Plus this is not just about books but mostly about advice so i figured we haven't got an advice thread so why not start one and ask my question about books and be done with it.
I am in need of a good book. I don't read much. The books i did read and enjoyed reading are: - John Irving's World according to Garp, The hotel new hampshire and the ciderhouse rules - Irvine Welsh's the Acid House, Filth and Trainspotting - Aldous Huxley - Brave new world and thats it. Oh and that Bookthief book was good and i liked Nick Cave's book.
Based on this, could anyone give me some advice on what to get? I seriously do not know where to start. I could just get another John Irving book but perhaps i am losing out on other stuff that i simply don't know about.
Anyone else want advice on anything? i'm sure there's loads a people here that have sensible things to say. Ah fuck it, who am i kidding?

I'm not even gonna pretend to have anything sensible to say but book wise I can whole heartedly recommend anything by Mr Chuck Palahniuk. Also I recently read the book of lost things which is an awesome creepy fairytale type thing, possibly for kids I dunno but it was AWESOME

I just read "A Dirty Job" by Christopher Moore, it's about a guy who accidentally becomes Death. Laugh out loud funny.
And of course I am a Lord of The rings nerd, you can't go wrong.

Read the original post Monty. Was answering the question.
Some advice then: Don't attempt to steer my responses!
