I don't listen to weird chill a lot... I don't even know why... Maybe because it's a bit short... Except Message to mine and Sleep with me, the other songs don't thrill me that much. Bubblegum is really good. I like it a lot and i like to listen to it frequently. Just a matter of tastes.

bubblegum is his best album, by far. i listen to it all the time, much more so than anything else, trees or solo. except for that god damn sideways in reverse song, which i absolutely fucking hate and skip past every time. and i don't particularly like weird chill, and hardly listen to it. so there.

ok, you've convinced me to pull it out from under the table & give it a whirl, but if i spill a drink on myself because of the wobbly table, i'm sending you the dry cleaning bill.

From the first song to the last, this is a wonderful album. Field Songs and Bubblegum are his best CDs from start to finish.

Just a matter of tastes. Bubblegum tastes good... Until you have to spit it out... Is that what this is getting at??? I'm hoping not...

I just woke up from the old 'disorienting evening nap' and listened to Out of Nowhere.
I like Bubblegum, last night I ripped it onto my computer so I could make a HCTWC/Bubblegum mutant hybrid though.
I think Bubblegum is about 6 minutes too long. A song could have gone and some could have been trimmed a bit.

me likey Bubblegum.....holding up well.....certain songs really twiddle my twaddle....some....not as much.....but overall it still makes the ol' nip nips stand up and churn butter. Field Songs and WFTHG are a little better though, in my humble, but correct opinion.

I love Bubblegum, but maybe that's 'cos it's the first of his solo albums that I listened to, so it's a sentimental favourite. I alternate all the other stuff with Bubblegum between each other album that I listen to. I tried the hybrid/compilation thing, but I like listening to albums in their entirety

WFTHG is my favorite too. But I APPRECIATE Bubblegum. And HCTWC. I listened to the latter driving around doing errends today. It's a good bunch work work. I guess I just wasn't used to the 'sound' of it, the post modern computer rock SOUND.... I was still stuck in a ealry 1990s Steve Albini trip or something.

just put all of your favorite songs on a cd or some player or whatever...for me it takes like 7 or so cd's...then listen to them and shut the hell up

Overall, bubblegum is holding up pretty well, despite the excessive chewing. It has really great songs but as a whole album, I’ll have to choose weird chill. At first, I didn’t pay much attention to it, but it grew well. I don’t listen to it as often, but never skip a song. Can’t say the same for Bubblegum. If this was about a single song, I’d choose it, but as an album… weird chill is more consistent.

that's funny because.... isn't Weird Chill OUTTAKES from Bubblegum?

i guess that shows how hard it would have been to split the body of the work up.
in fairness, i'd say that Bubblegum is more focused towards a commercial end, while Weird Chill is more for 'fans'.
which begs the question, what will the supposed second EP contain?

Uh I read an intereview with Mr Lanegan in which he says that there's "another album's worth of outtakes" from Bubblegum, but I haven't heard of any plans of releasing it in any form.
