Reserve this space for early morning drunken review.
PS And still no reviews from the Spanish/Italian shows? Shame on you!

Yea I was just about to post and ask where the hell the Spain and Italy reviews have been. Come on people, I know someone who lurks around here had to go to one of those shows!
Also, it's close to mid-February.....where the hell is some info on the new Soulsavers album?!?! This guy's getting impatient!

Don't think we have any Spanish members here. We did have an Italian one, but he, erm, yes. That's not to say that new ones can't pop by and say hi, but the same thing has happened on previous tours - the UK/Netherlands/Belgian threads are quite full & plentiful, and then there's a great big gap before some (not many) US reports filter back. Seems to be the way of things, erally.
News on new Soulsavers album? Um, might be a while yet.

All that stuff that you might hear is merely coincidence, or something.

Did a handsome italian break you heart? Bastardo. Nope, but if I remember rightly, he once offered to have Mokkly done over by a bunch of Eastenders (that's probably what Francis Magee was doing at the Isobel/Mark Bexhill show, come to think of it...)

It was mesmerising.
Setlist was identical to AB.
No particular highlight really.
Pure soul, Summers' Kiss broke my heart and I think I wept openly during God's Children, King Only and We Have Met Before.
This was raw power on display tonight.
I just have no words.
The only bit of "gossip" that came through was as Dulli was donning his harmonica, he laughed and pointed at Mark saying "This was all his idea" and that was that.
No other crowd interactions, no Bonnie Brae no nothing.
An ex was around with a 60yr old fat idiot.
Lots of whiskey going down, many cigarettes.
Hell has never been finer:)

Sadly that was all a goddamn press release lie. No violin, no cello no 3hr show.
Just the usual.
Fucking cunt promoters:)

Okay, I've finally been shamed into posting a review of the show in Florence (which should make it obvious I'm not Italian - I mean Firenze, of course). I'm from Scotland, so I also went to the Glasgow show - which I thought was good, at least after the first couple of songs. It seemed like it took them til the third song to really get in gear, but after that it was all good.
However, the show in Florence was absolutely phenomenal. The set-list was the same, but the sound was incomparably better. For a start, there was a real piano and the acoustics in the hall were excellent, too. Mostly though, both Dulli and Lanegan were on amazing form. When Lanegan started singing The Stations, I nearly fell out my chair it was so good. Particular highlights for me were (in no particular order) The Stations, One Hundred Days, Sunrise, the fourth one they played (can't remember the name right now)... actually the whole thing was a highlight, it was superb from beginning to end.
It was refreshing to watch a show at a sensible time of night too, I get really sick of shows in Scotland always starting at 8.30pm or some nonsense like that.
I just wish I could have gone to every show! Sorry this is not a very good review, all I can do is think of more and more superlatives to describe it.
