Great concert. Much better than the concert at the Melkweg. The sound was much better, Mark's voice wasn't overpowered by the guitars. You could see that the whole band was in great form. Again the stage was dark and you couldn't see their faces well, especially Mark's. This time Michael Barragan was in great form, compared to the concert at the Melkweg. Especially the twinguitar-solo during Resurrection Song was haunting.

im really not that bothered by pendulum being played. it's had so many live airings... i just wanna hear unusual stuff. less predictable stuff...

It was an excellent concert indeed, Mark's raspy bariton voice never fails to impress and move me live. Mark and the band really seemed to be into it, and the sound was much better from the start than on the Pukkelpop gig on 20/8 (last friday), although I still couldn't hear the girl doing background vocals most of the time.
It almost goes without saying that Mark's stage presence was "static" as always, with him clinging to the microphone stand and his eyes staring into infinity, but the power and emotion that comes from his voice more than makes up for this.
Compared to the show in Brussels in november, this one was much harder rocking, oversteered guitars all the time and a bit less room for subtlety. By consequence, I found that this show felt less intimate than the one in Brussels, which was really magical at times.
The highlights for me were the raw and moody "Skeletal History"and a beautifully performed version of "One Hundred Days". I wish he had played a bit more from Here Comes That Weird Chill, because I love that moody distorted sound that goes so well with Mark's voice. I especially missed Message To Mine. I heard the song for the first time in Brussels and the melody haunted me for days after the show.
All in all, it was a great evening, well worth the one and a half hour trip from Belgium.

Yeah great concert! The girl wasn't audible most of the time in the harder songs, but overall the sound was good. Tried to start a conversation with Michael Barraghan afterwards, but he said went straight to the bar (and damn right he was.. )

I was a bit distracted during this show. Quite a lot actually,so I missed out on too much. Got a nice poster though from the salesdude who thought it might make me happy. ;D Nice new t-shirts!!! Blue and yellow girlie tees added to the collection! Got the blue one. Will wear it with pride. My date was very impressed by Mark's voice and the Field Songs material. sweet

I was at this gig, first time I'd seen Lanegan live. It was a total gem.

Is there a recording of this show? I've searched and searched and I can't find bootlegs for his later shows. I'm loving the fact that he's going to be on tour with Gutter Twins and I loved watching him live with Soulsavers but I can't wait until I have a chance of seeing him do a solo show some day.
