Just as a bit of a wonder, out of the upcoming "Mark Lanegan stuff that isn't a Mark Lanegan album" goings-on, which are the two (because I've gone all technical with the pollings) that you are most looking forward to? Stating why would be nice as well, what with this being a discussion forum and all that So I've gone for Soulsavers and My Jerusalem. My Jerusalem because Without Feathers is an amazing EP (and if you are reading this and not bought it yet, bugger off and buy it this instant) and anything with Jeff Klein on it is going to be a winner, especially after feeling that he was maybe a teeny bit underused during the Gutter Twins. And Soulsavers because there's going to be a lot of Mark on it, and because "It's..." remains for me the best non-solo/non-Trees work he's thus far done. Of the ones I didn't pick: not too arsed about Slash's body of work to date (although am looking forward to being proven wrong), never been a huge fan of the Breeders (although that's more of an ex-girlfriend thing rather than anything the band ever did, so "sorry!" if they're reading this), and the CWtAB album is out now in a few areas anyway so that sort of doesn't count. His contribution to that is bloody amazing though. And yes, I've missed out the Ramones/Whigs tribute albums as they may or may not appear at any time. And as we're still waiting for the Nick Drake/Red Red Meat ones, it might still be a while ;D

I pick Soulsavers #1 and I hope we get more details very soon. And I also pick My Jerusalem as a second choice, because I feel I need to get into Jeff Klein and I'm obviously still on a big GT kick.
whatever happened to the Jeff Klein song Mark sang on? it had a demo version on his myspace a long time ago, did it turn into the Jerusalem song maybe?

I voted for Soulsavers and Slash. I think that Soulsavers is Mark's second best collaborative effort following the Gutter Twins. I'm much more excited about the My Jerusalem record than the Slash record overall, but I'm not so much interested in it as a collaboration. Mark has already done a lot with these guys and I'm more curious about what alchemy there will and won't be between Mark and Slash than how Mark will sound with My Jerusalem. My impression is that Mark's contributions to the MJ record are going to be more subtle.

Mark's contribution to the band according to lastFM tags (and which will be on the upcoming album in June) is called Hit the Lights and can currently be heard on My Jerusalem's myspace.

Yeah, I think that's him buried low in the mix of the chorus of "Bury It Low" (har har) as well.
Both great songs!

We'll probably have to wait for the album credits for proper confirmation - Jeff does a fair bit of doubletracking his vocals in different registers and his lower one has been confused with Mark's before. I see the lastFM list still has the Joseph Arthur track with the 'Featuring' bit but Mark's name has gone. Which makes it a bit confusing.

I'm voting Breeders and Soulsavers.
Breeders because I'm a big fan of Kim Deal's stuff in Pixies but I've yet to hear anything from the Breeders aside from 'Canonball' so this should be good for me.
and Soulsaver's just because it's going to have a lot of Lanegan.
