..and it is beautiful.
the power of Lanegan's voice on this sort of thing allows them to keep the arrangement really sparse but more elegant and stately than the original.
nicely understated strings. lovely backing vocals.
glorious.

Sorry if I've missed out on this info elsewhere... but are both of these songs going to be included on Broken? I have actually fallen in deep, passionate love with both of them (hey, a bit of Lanegan polygamy can be forgiven), and having them both will complete me.
Saying that, I know I might get a lot of flack for this, but I'm not that familiar with BPB. Anyone know where I should start?

'You Will Miss Me When I Burn' will be on Broken; however, 'Sunrise' will only be on the single, not the album. That's why I intend to purchase both! They are both great, that's for sure. An excellent start, can't wait to hear the rest.

I adore this track. Its also very poignant to me right now cos one of my best mates was cremated on wednesday. Lovely song. Lanegan can do no wrong. Can't wait for Broken. Also can't wait to hear Lanegan and Patton on a song together.

Troyvanlewis (and anyone else interested), "Greatest Palace Music" and "Master and Everyone" are where I started with BPB - they're both excellent. He's a bit prolific, so it probably pays to be selective. I don't believe that I've heard the original You Will Miss Me, so might try and find that.

You Will Miss Me is on Greatest Palace Music - shows how long it is since I listened to it - I'm off to do just that now!
