Mark Lanegan in 2010 has an 3º upcoming album with Isobel, Slash and Unkle collaboration, and will begin work on his first solo album in five years.

The unkle collaboration has been recorded in 2009 and i doubt he will be on tour with them for just one song, same for Slash. Another album + tour with isobel ? I HOPE ITS NOT TRUE.

Do you guys don't like his work with Isobel Campbell?! Everytime I listen to Sunday at the devil dirt, it grows a bit more on me, I'd love to hear another collaborations between those two!

well, seems like at least rak likes his other stuff a tiny bit more, said politely. anyways, this probably has been the most controversial thing discussed here, but for me i gotta say i like it, although i wished (as we all do...) he would first release a new solo album + supporting tour of course , and then perhaps another isobel collaboration. rak: sorry i have to disappoint ou, it IS TRUE.

I HOPE ITS NOT TRUE. did your name used to be 'e'..? From the rocknrolldating.com interview from last September.. How did the collaboration with Isobel Campbell come to be? ML: I was on tour with the Queens [of the Stone Age] and got something in the mail, a piece of music she had sent to my record company and asked if I wanted to sing on it. I didn’t realize there were actually words for this piece of music already, I didn’t read the entire letter or something, and I went ahead and made up my own singing part for it, which happened really quickly. I got back to her and she ended up liking what I did and put it on an EP. We met in person a couple of times when I was up in Glasgow, hung out and became friendly. One thing led to another. I just finished working on a third record.

I can't find it now but saw another interview in the last few days where he was talking about a 3rd album and saying how much he enjoyed working with her. I'm happy with this.

Well I certainly didn't want to stir things up by talking about the "most controvertial thing discussed here", to each its own, I guess! ;-)

So even mentioning her name is " stirring things up "? What do you suggest? A complete embargo on discussing a 3rd album when it comes out because some people here don't like her?

I'm looking forward to the third isobel campbell record, I really enjoy the first two. The thing with Slash doesn't interest me as much, I don't know about this unkle thing either...
another gutter twins or solo album would be appreciated too! maybe a "physical release" of adorata with bonus tracks?

I was listening to Marc Riley's show on Radio 6, from BBC, today. Soulsavers was there, playing a couple of songs. Lanegan said that this year the third album with Isobel is coming out. And....that this month he'll make a new album with Duke Garwood (?), who plays horns (!) with Archie Bronson Outfit! Nice!!! I see new tours coming soon, hehehe! Here's Duke's myspace. www.myspace.com/dukegarwoodNo horns, just blues rock, he sounds talented from what little I've listened to. Kinda sounds like Dan Auerbach when he's not all, like, in yo' face.

Yes, he has good songs. The beginning of "Mellow Trucker Baby" reminds me of "Wedding Dress"...

duke was opening for several greg and mark intimate shows the first leg they were playing in europe at least. bluesy style and indeed talented, i really liked him and bought 1 CD from him after the berlin show as well as a tour poster, as he was also selling the merch.

He definitely said horns. So at least 2 new albums in some form this year. Good, good.

The Garwood project sounds interesting to me. Let's consult the Guardian .... I found a review of Duke's last record from last year:
"Duke Garwood learned to play in Thai beach bars and seedy London squats, and has played sax for Archie Bronson Outfit and guitar on the Orb's Perpetual Dawn. He certainly gets around. This album, his third, sounds like 1930s Delta blues recorded on a modern building site. Plucking at his guitar when he feels like it, Garwood's songs have a disembodied, fractured feel, like musical snapshots or negatives. His murmurs and moans vaguely recall Jim Morrison or Nick Cave, although only odd lines - "As the sun was rising, I look away" - are actually intelligible. At times, his collage of drums, xylophones and even a bicycle bell are barely categorisable. It's difficult music that rewards perseverance, but at his most baffling it sounds like someone trying every instrument in a music shop while drunk."
This sonds promising.
