A new "solo" album this year ?

Looks like Mark will perform songs from his new album on the upcoming solo tour, maybe this year we'll see a new solo album...after 6 long years

I have been waiting for that for a very long time... I adore all his collaborations but his solo work touches my heart in a very special way.

Mark said, months and months ago, that he planned to start a new solo album in 2010 (i can't be bothered to source that, but it was in an interview somewhere - maybe someone else will find it - Katey?).

however, since then he has said he was planning to do something with Duke Garwood at the start of this year and that then he would probably get to work on a follow-up to Bubblegum.. (this was mentioned on Soulsavers BBC radio session)

the third Isobel Campbell album is due this year as well - but i believe that is completed, or near enough completed. i dont know. You'd have to speak to someone who keeps up with all the Isobel Campbelll stuff..

Um, yeah. You're right. I don't feel like finding it right now. I have a cake cooling and am watching fucking morons doing dangerous things for symbolic awards on TV in addition to posting this.

You are correct. He was clear in the BBC thing that the Duke thing and the solo thing are seprate things.

This says she's 'currently' recording in LA. Mark did say somewhere towards the end of last year that he thought the album was done, or, that 'his part' was done. But he's usually wrong on that- remember how he kept saying the Gutter Twins album was almost done?

I am. I'd like to add that I find Mark Lanegan to be the least reliable source on upcoming Mark Lanegan releases out there. Either he's not doing anything and bullshitting in interviews, or he's working on something but not talking about it.

So be patient.

well he said that to my brother when he came here (Argentina) last year.

it's gonna be released on 4AD that's what we know.

but when it's gonna be released?....well I don't know!
