To my knowledge Mark hasnt performed El Sol live before.
Amongst a history of greats, this is one of Mark's greatest songs in my opinion and seeing as though he is unveiling all these other goodies on this current tour, like Wild Flowers and Shanty Man's Life, I think we need to start a movement, for Mark to unleash this song live on the masses.
Hopefully we get to hear El Sol in Melbourne and many other cities on the current and upcoming tour.
folks I know it will be special, you know it will be special,... just say yes.
regards, wellwater

Well, for some reason (and I've always wondered why) the name's in spanish. Us being a spanish-speaking country he should definitely play it in Buenos Aires Since we're asking for songs I'd take it a little bit further and plead for the other spanish tittled theme on lanegan's catalog. If I get to hear borracho live acousticaly I'd die a happy girl. As much as I like hearing songs live close to their original versions I totally love the electric into acoustic conversions.

Every time I see this thread I think that El SOL is back. He has been DOA for a while. I hope he is okay. He was a great guy. Very poetic. Enjoy the smokiness.
