Just wondering have you of any whispers of an Australian tour?? I'm still finding it amusing that two people who both moved from areas that are cold and yucky in the winter to a place that's sunny and warm are spending such a sizeable chunk of the winter in places that are cold and yucky, and by choice. Australia would have made a lot more sense for February. Yeah, Mark seems to have chosen to tour in one endless winter. When he was down here it was wet and cold... Such a sucker for punishment.

And he missed a sunny clear 70 degree day today in L.A.

Yay I still managed to get a ticket for the show in Helsinki!! Haven't checked the ticket seller's website for a couple of days and when I checked today, apparently they threw in an extra-batch just as I thought and there were still a few left. I had to run there from my office (couldn't buy online, didn't have my internet-bank passwords with me) and as I crawled on their doorstep almost spitting my lungs out, whispering "1 ticket to Mark Lanegan pls", the seller told me they have actually 1 ticket left AND I GOT IT!!! Woohoo! Luck was on my side! In your face ticket traders!
SOOOO CAN'T WAAIT!!

Ok then, time to transform myself from a long-time lurker to an active board member again So a few words about the show in Helsinki. It was great, of course, the venue was packed (sold-out months in advance) and both Mark and Isobel sounded as good as ever. There were a few minor mistakes made by the guitar/bass players but nothing serious, and since one of them seemed to be new it was half expected. Isobel seemed a little absent-minded (or maybe just a little worried about their musicians), not really saying much but Mark was in a really good mood, smiling a lot and even cracking a joke: The set was very similar to the one in Vienna, I think they only changed the order of the songs and actually, I think it happened unintentionally - judging from the expressions on Mark and Isobel's faces I think the guitar player accidentally skipped one song so they just played it later on. Mark sang No Place To Fall again too, did a fantastic job and again I wonder why he refused to sing it on the record. But at least now we have the chance to hear two great versions instead of just one! To me Mark's version sounds very different compared to Willy Mason's, it's kinda intriguing actually. There were live cd's on sale (no bobbleheads) and Mark was signing them after the show. I was really surprised to see him so relaxed, chatting away with fans and apparently in no hurry to get away from the situation. In fact, it seemed as if he was - dare I say it - enjoying it? Or maybe I just need to get glasses, not sure. ;D

You're right.....he even seems to be smiling (at his own joke probably) through the whole song!!!! He was smiling at Isobel, because she was smiling at him about the whole incident. I was standing right in front of Mark the whole show. People were cheering really loud after every song and while Isobel was smiling from time to time, nodding and thanking people, I saw Mark biting his cheeks from the inside a few times at those moments as if he was trying really hard not to smile again

Maybe I'm the one going deaf because I didn't understand the joke... What's Isobel saying at the beginning ?

Maybe I'm the one going deaf because I didn't understand the joke... What's Isobel saying at the beginning ? Something like "hey start again....'cause I know I'm supposed to get on the same chord, don't you think"

I'm so looking forward to seeing them in Utrecht, they're sounding great and still seem to be enjoying themselves.

Just came home from Isobel & Mark in Stockholm Sweden. Great Show. Bought the Voxhall and Barbican cds which Mark signed. I thanked him for many years of great music and he seemed happy and shook my hand.

I was really underwhelmed by the SheBu show tonight. Isobel had a rough night (including being in need of a zip up the entire time) and the band felt out of synch too often. Wedding Dress was cut from the end and there was no merch to be found. I'm definitely ready for Mark's next project, whatever that may be.

I enjoyed the London show, but yeah, a few things seemed to go pear shaped for Isobel. Nevermind. I got hold of Lanegan's set list afterwards which was a bonus, and I think Wedding Dress was cut due to Isobel being poorly (I guess). Oh, and that singer from Sea of Bees was crazy! And I think literally. Theirs was the only merchandise I could see on sale which was a disappointment. Rob Zombie tomorrow just to mix the week up. Enjoy the rest of the tour those of you going! Yeah, after (Do You Wanna) which Isobel hacked a big cough in the middle of, Mark came over to her and said something. She then went to the rest of the member of ther band to relay the message. Why the cut a song that she doesn't even sing on is beyond me. That Sea of Bees singer's voice made me want to stab things. It was awful. I've never been inpressed with Isobel's support choices. I want some more Carina Round.
