Their facebook page says the new album is almost finished. Does anyone know if Lanegan is involved with this one?

I asked Mark about this when he was in Australia, and he said he's not. Dave Gahan (Depeche Mode) will be singing on it instead and Mark said it sounded fantastic.

I think he could sing it quite well. It was seeing him sing it in that vid that horrified people. His performance style is very different from Mr. Lanegan's.

I really like the Soulsavers with Lanegan. As with all the other stuff he has done besides the Trees and the solo material, those two Soulsavers albums are treasures. Not a Depeche Mode fan at all, so I don't think I will be buying the new one then. This is not great news to me. Anyone else in the same boat?

I think I'll wait until I actually hear the new album before I make any judgments about its quality.

The Soulsavers records with Lanegan are absolutely gorgeous. I love both of them and would also love for them to make more. Nevertheless, I'm quite intrigued by them working with Dave Gahan. But e is quite a different singer from Lanegan (not just on stage), so it'll be interesting to hear how it sounds. Not sure if I'll buy it, but I'm an optimist (and a Depeche Mode fan)

You probably know a Depeche Mode song or two, without knowing it's them. Personal Jesus, perhaps? (which, by the way, is a badass track)

I did love the Soulsavers records with Mark and would like to see it happen again, but I'd like to hear this one, too. And, I have to confess, I would like to see Dave Gahan live with Soulsavers, if it's possible to get in the door of the show if they do some.

Dave's cover of "Low" was pretty cool IMHO & i love all the SS's albums, so i'll shell out my clams for it.
Plus, the SS's live show is badass, balls to the wall, rock-n-roll. Those guitars melt faces !!!

I saw this earlier today on Facebook, too. I'll miss Lanegan's presence for sure, but I will still listen to the album...most definitely. Soulsavers put together some amazing music. I feel fortunate that Mark decided to FINALLY finish a solo album rather than working on another side project, albeit I'm sure it would have been another brilliant collaboration, I'll take new solo material any day.
