I think that would be fair during Blues Funeral listening parties stream the entire new album online for those who couldn't be in the stores. Anyone with me?

No, thats the whole point of listening parties in record stores - to get you in the shop buying other stuff.
If the album streams online prior to offcial release, it will get torrented and youtubed and rapidshared before you can say 'royalty cheque, Mr Lanagan?'
Just wait. It's not long now and the brain exercise will do you good. We live in an ADHD culture and it wouldnt hurt to just chill out and savour the anticipation.

Heheheheheh yeah isn't it? How did you like the brain exercise? edit: oh yeah, and at Bennyboy: My brain got pissed! But it's okay, I've waited this long, I can definitely wait 3 more weeks. Even if it does stream, I refuse to listen to it now. I want to hear album quality sound, not a shitty online stream--I kind of ruined my experience with my first listen of GT's Saturnalia by listening to the early web stream. Won't be doing that again!

I'm not quite persuaded that the album won't get torrented and youtubed and rapidshared when 25 stores will have it before us. And I've been exercising my brain on that album for 8 years, now I'm tired...

This kind of cruel joke isn't funny! LOL, I'm definitely with wheels. I think it'll appear somewhere on the Internet before it officially comes out, but since 4AD will ship it to arrive "at or around the release date" (it's about fucking time they sent it, come to think of it) I think I'll wait until it hits the stores.

Sneaky ;D Got in a bit of panic 'Should I? Shouldn't I?' From Blues Funeral's release until I have it in my hands and listened to it, I'll probably leave internet world to itself.... if I can

Oh don't get me wrong, if a good quality leak hits the net within the next 3 weeks, I will most likely cave for sure. But again only if I hear that it's an album quality rip and not a online stream. I've already pre-ordered two copies of the album...hopefully one of those is initialed by Mark!

Same with me - looking regularly for a leaked copy ;D Nothing yet but today I found the Vault 7" single track which is really nice...
And don't get me wrong: I have ordered two copies of the album, too so I will pay Mr. Lanegan for his creative output - it is just unfair some press people can already enjoy the album so if I get a chance to "grab" an early copy I will do so!

And please remember guys - while this forum is a great place for getting the latest info, it shouldn't be a place for stealing from the artists we enjoy. Things leak because of this entitled age we live in, but please DO NOT POST links here to give away someone's work for free that they are selling to make their living.

Respect the artist at all times. They keep us spiritually fed and watered and we should at least try to do the same materially for them, if we care about them enough.

wow.....just wow...overall the album is more upbeat and driving than I expected...productionwise it has the Gutter Twins/Soulsavers appeal, rich and layered with thick textures of studio sound...enriched with sweet gooey aular-tendrils of scrumptious melodic and harmonizing delight, to help you reach a warm creamy gelatinous gushy eargasm...of sorts. hmm...this album is made with bits of real panther, so you know its real.
..."now here the winter will cut you quick, if tears were liqour, I'd've drunk myself sick" on "St. Louis Elegy" just plain kills it with the lyrical imagery...case "fucking" closed! (RIP Bill Hicks)
I love "Gray Goes Black" ...for me it really touched on his SST years (my favorite years of all) with the overall flow of the song...
"Quiver Syndrome" has a very similar beat and vocal delivery to his live version of the QOTSA song "God Is In The Radio"...such good shit!
How is it that Lanegan doesn't know how to do wrong! ...I'm already sister b-side EP hungry...where the fux it at!? ;D
Blues Funeral definetely rocks & sways and dips & dives at all the right places! Thanks once again Mark for another superb offering! Lil late but worth the wait. Listening parties are 2morow...hell yea who's going?
