So...if I'm right, on Record Store, we are getting three vinyl releases featuring Mark this year, therefore, it should be called Mark Store Day 2013
1) Mad Season - Above reissue / remaster 2 LP 2) Collab with Moby 3) Songs of Tim Hardin on vinyl
There goes another $150..because I always buy two copies of everything the man does on vinyl....one for playing, one for keeping....and I just spent a ton on all three vinyl releases of Lawless, Who vs Who on red vinyl, Sweet Apple featuring Mark on purple and yellow vinyl...and I forked out a pretty penny to be able to get one of the 300 Copies pressed of The Mark Lanegan Band Play Blues Funeral in Mexico City.
I'm not complaining, I'm just sayin.....

Is there anybody out there willing to buy me a copy of each of the above? I am a poor European citizen and therefor have no chance to get this release other than for the double or triple price on ebay immediately after the release. PayPal payment of course! Please pm me... Thanks in advance!

The Songs of Tim Hardin vinyl isn't RSD exclusive, it's been available for a while. www.amazon.co.uk/Reason-To-Believe-Songs-Hardin/dp/B00ARKXPG4RSD was supposed to have been calmed down a bit this year, as 650 items in 2012 was a bit of a muchness for many stores (quite a few smaller outlets ended up out of pocket, which is against the spirit of the thing). It seems to have gone even madder this year though, as I've seen hundreds of things announced already and the full list isn't out for another 5 days (EDIT: Lies! UK RSD list is announced 7pm on the 21st, presume the US one is about the same time)...

Thanks in advance! My limited experience with Record Store Day is that stores like to limit purchases to one copy of each - supposedly helps keep down the assholes who turn around and sell stuff on ebay for an arm and a leg.

Yup, one of the odd things about RSD is that there are rather strict rules about selling that the stores have to adhere to. One copy of one thing per customer is one, but another that can help avoiding ebay scalpers is the time restrictions placed on sales - after RSD is over, all exclusives are supposed to come down from the shelves for a set period of time (can't remember exactly, think it's either 7 or 10 days) after which they can put them back up and sell, and any stores that also do mail order can do so 3 days after that. It is a bit of a gamble, but depending on how limited something is and how desirable it is to the marketplace at large (the Blur 7" from a few years ago being a good case in point of half the limited amount never reaching shops at all), it shouldn't be too tricky to find a shop selling what you want online after 10 days or so, even if they didn't have it in stock on the actual RSDay itself. Truth is, RSD is a bit bloated now. Pop over to Rough Trade's site and there are pages of 2012 and 2011 RSD stuff still waiting to be sold, with some gems amid the landfill. A huge percentage of releases that I've seen so far for this year are repackagings and reissues of classic (and, um, not so classic) stuff and it's these easily knocked-together and far more collectible albums that'll sell quicker than any of the more interesting 7"s (all my must-haves this year are all singles, with one 10" exception so far). The White Stripes and Jesus & Mary Chain reissues will probably be the most sought-after/fought-over things, everything else should be fairly easy to get hold of, providing you lobby your local store now to ask nicely for the stuff you want

Stores had it listed as that, it's since been confirmed as a RSD release on the 20th
Ah - just had it clarified about the Hardin comp... The US vinyl is out on RSD (iTunes today I think), but it isn't an exclusive release for that day... That's probably made it more confusing :/
