www.myspace.com/soulsaversThe Soulsavers are putting the finishing touches to their new album "It's Not How Far You Fall, It's The Way You Land" This time round, Soulsavers (Rich Machin, Ian Glover) have joined up with Mark Lanegan who provides vocals on 8 of the albums 12 tracks, and also augmented their sound with the addition of old friend Rich Warren on a number of tracks (yes, the same Rich Warren who turned down Noel Gallagher's invitation to join Oasis). The album also features cameo appearances by Will Oldham, PW Long & Jimi Goodwin(Doves). It's an eclectic recording, a unique mix of hip-hop, rock, country, soul & gospel. The album was recorded throughout 2005 & into early '06, between the bands home base in the North of England, and Los Angeles. The record is in its final stages, and is due for release in January '07 on V2 Records.

I went out drinking with my friend who works at V2 last week and he said the track with Nicole Atkins didn't make the album. He also said that it was looking more like a Feb release now, but that it was finished and they were gonna have a huge push on it. The guy is a huge Lanegan fan & said 2 of the tracks are the best things he's ever heard him sing on. I'm begging him to furnish me with a promo.

There is a demo up on their myspace page now. It says it's only up for a temporary period. Sounds great, more rocking than i thought.

sorry, but how fucking good does that sound. i think this record could be fucking great, the instrumental on the page sounds great too. reminds me of what i liked about bubblegum best where lanegan is mixing it up up most, rocking out & more downtempo stuff.

Ok, i finally got to hear some more of this yesterday. Sounds insane, totally experimental. I loved it. I can say it also has 2 covers on it. Neil Young's 'Through My Sails' & The Stones 'No Expectations' Their was also a gospel song called 'Revival', that is one of the best songs i've ever hear Lanegan sing. It's done & the label are about to start setting up release. Will post more when i find out.

From Soulsavers Myspace's Looks like we missed all release windows for '06 now, so from what i'm hearing, were gonna try to schedule a release for the middle of January now, but hopefully we'll have and EP or a few 7"s out before the end of the year. What happened with that EP folks???

¡¡¡¡¡¡¡Great Newssssssssssssssssssssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Finally finished.
Well, we finally finished mastering the record Thursday. Somehow that took 2yrs & 2months... It's due for release the first week in March in Europe, i don't know about everywhere else yet.
The final tracklist is,
1. Revival 2. Ghosts of You & Me 3. Paper Money 4. Ask The Dust 5. Spiritual 6. Kingdoms Of Rain 7. Through My Sails 8. Arizona Bay 9. Jesus Of Nothing 10. No Expectations 11. End Title Theme
There's a Ltd 10" Vinyl out Just after Christmas with 'Kingdoms of Rain' & 'Jesus of Nothing' on it. Then the first proper single is gonna be 'Revival', but i'm not sure about dates etc.
I think now all i wanna do is pack a bag with a few books, my ipod & take a very long holiday.
Cheers R.
