Hi everyone, Mark Lanegan Band has just been anounced at "Les ardentes festival" in Belgium in July. That's the only date for now, but I guess we can expect more dates in the future. All this is good news for a possible new album in the next few month! www.lesardentes.be/2014/fr

Oh that's cool, I'm hoping for a date near Paris, the programmation of that festival is not very in my tastes, I don't think I will go.

I don't think he can pop up (or is it pop out? ok now it sounds disgusting) a new album that fast.

I don't think he can pop up (or is it pop out? ok now it sounds disgusting) a new album that fast. I don't know why people keep saying this on this board. He proved that he can complete albums fairly quickly last year. From roughly July 2004 to January 2005, John Frusciante released six albums in six months, five of them full length. It was the most prolific time in any artists career, well the ones that I follow anyway. Not to say that Lanegan would come close to matching that, but any goal an artist sets for himself is attainable. It's just a question of if he wants to.

He can certainly make an album in one week (haven't he said he'd finished Bubblegum in two weeks? Or was it just the christmas days... Now I'm confused... Haha), but it seems that there are always months between a finished album and an actual released album. I don't know how that works, but that was just my impression.
Oh and Imitations was finished I think in february or so, and it was released in september.
Yeah and Bubblegum was finished (I don't know about mixed and stuff but) during that christmas of 2003, and released august 2004 I believe.

I'm not saying it will be finished, or that problems don't arise sometimes. Have you found a reason for the lapse of time from completion to release for Imitations? Black Pudding came out in April, maybe he was more interested in writing and recording for that album? But yes, there seems to be the notion that it takes six months to get from completion to release, and though this is often the case, there is nothing that says it can't be done faster. If he wants the album to be out by the time the tour starts, it will be. No doubt about it. Mark's pimp hand is strong.

Sure whatever, I never took a 'pimp hand' of Mark in consideration
Black Pudding was completed in 2011, they were looking for a label to release it.

The Afghan Whigs are playing on the same day so we can expect a Lanegan/Dulli duet...

I've been to the Cactus Festival once to see Lanegan and Isobel Campbell. It's a pretty small festival, only one stage, and basically all I remember from it is that they were super weird with French people and we couldn't use our credit card anywhere in the city... We stayed in a hostel that was OK, I need to find its name as I'll probably go in the same one...

Did you get festival tickets around this time or later? My biggest worry is that if I wait too long, they gonna sold out... As I can recall from my visit to Brugge,it's pretty much small place.. Did you manage to find hostel there or in some near town? Thx
