Has anyone heard anything? For those who dont know, Queens have been recording for months and are supposedly mixing the new album. They are also being very secretive about the lineup. With Gutter Twins and some Twilight Singers touring (and rumored solo album possible recording), is it even possible that he could be on it?
I still think that is where Mark belongs. I love all of his stuff no matter whom he is with. But, man, he is the perfect fit in Queens. One of the greatest bands ever with one of the greatest vocalists ever. His contributions to R and SFTD are great. I'd love to see him have a big role in the new one.

I don't think so. But that's just a guess.

Well I don't think so, unless Mark sends tapes to them from wherever he might be, which I don't think so too.

i totally agree, whiskey. the songwriting, especially lyrics became really really shitty. there are still some pretty great songs on ltp (tangled up in plaid, everyone knows that youre insane, someones in the wolf, etc.)- some of them lanegan co-wrote (tangled up in plaid, medication, long slow goodbye, and in my head).
I really hope that he is on the new album though. i know there was some talk of maybe mark being in an LA studio for a little bit, maybe recording solo stuff. maybe it was for queens...

don't forget the first Queens album.... or the split EP.... they did exisit without Mark, and even put out listenable music without Mark.

I was disappointed with the patchiness of LTP, but there are still three or four killer tracks on it. Just a lot of fillers. After SFTD I was really hoping for something special last time around. Kind of resigned to the new one not being that special either now

I think he sensed a big dramarama coming up and got out before it happened. He was very into Queens being a low drama all hugs type band, but obviously that changed at some point.

maybe a good thing may happen now thats Homme seems to have limited the amount of people appearing on the album, get down to the roots of the music with out too much outside influence

do you really think that was the problem or maybe homme is not the man he used to be ?

hoping i suppose i hate to go nuts about it before it comes out, Homme needs to strip things down a bit........he's an amazing musician a bit of self indulgence might be the best thing for him, i'd hate to dismiss it before i've heard it LTP had some really good moment but i know why i was disappointed i was hoped for Rated R 2, i've got pals who think that album is amazing but who were unfamilar with Rated R and SFTD but part of me agrees with you he's not the man he used to be

the people he surrounds himself with these days are not like the old days , I think he needs someone who will challenge him (like Nick) instead of a bunch of ass kissing yes men and women who think every chord he plays r0ks with its c0ck out

thats always been the problem with any kinda sucess it affects different people in the same way, if he was a business man with sucess he'd be donald trump, he needs to be grounded in something, christ even a concept album would be better than LTP but lets not rant too soon people change, could be a temporary thing he's going through (i'm kidding myself a little)
