Unless I'm missing something, that "No Bells On Sunday" vinyl release is looking less and less 'limited' by the day.

I think Vagrant is still trying to get rid of the 1500 units they pressed. If I'm right Heavenly is all sold out, but it looks like they also gave 500 - 1000 to a few other European suppliers, so I'd be there were around 3000 units pressed in total. Mark has pull, but the EP came out fast in the US...not so much in the UK. I'd bet it sells out before Phantom Radio gets released with all vendors.

The numbers might not sound a lot in these days of "ooh, vinyl's taking over the world again", but 500-1500 units are a lot to shift, particularly with such a small amount of overground press coverage. It will no doubt sell out eventually (and probably permanently, as queues for presses get longer) but unless it's a Mondo or Death Waltz release, nobody has to scramble to the internet for the chance of a reasonably large release, unless the eBay knobs hoover them all up

Agreed, super weird blurb: "Nice to know old gravel larynx Mark Lanegan is releasing an album he composed largely on his phone. Apparently this is his krautrock/post-punk inspired album. Nice to know the singer from The Screaming Trees was soaking up lots of British and German music in his youth rather than digging Alice Cooper and Blue Cheer. He explains, kindly, that he's waited until impending old-man status looms large over his life before he begins pastiching the music he loved when he wore plaid shirts and had long hair. It cannot be any more cringeworthy or mawkish than that crooner-style mess he forced on us a while back."

I actually like that sites/record stores do their own personal write-ups rather than just regurgitating a record label press release.

That write up is kind of hilarious. Gravel larynx.. I guess thats better than Whiskey soaked.. I wonder how many times this will be referred to the 'i-phone album'

Any idea where Canadians buy the cd? I tried to pre order from kingsroad but it wouldn't let me since I'm in Canada. I emailed them to see if this was a mistake but they replied saying it was not, that it was licensed to someone else in Canada...

Pre-ordered the 180 gram vinyl from Kings Road...13.50 after the 10% discount. Can't beat that.

I wonder if the white vinyl will be available in the US, or if I'll have to get it from one of the UK dealers...

It looks like the white vinyl is UK independent record stores only, although as there are quite a few of them (and 500 non-RSD vinyl copies is a LOT to shift) it should be easy enough to get a hold of. High record costs here and crap postal rates might be a bit of a sicking point though.
Calm Ocean, sadly it looks like if Vagrant are licenced to US only (which is becoming a trend with labels of late instead of the old North America thing) so if you can't find a store/buddy to ship across the border then it's via Heavenly, unless there's an Amazon.ca marketplace seller who can take the sting out of the shipping...

amazon.ca has both cd and lp listed now for pretty reasonable when you factor in the free shipping, but I'm just not sure I have faith in them getting this to me in a timely manner. the last record I ordered from amazon was the afghan whigs new one and I think they finally got it to me 3 months after its release. guess I will preorder anyway since amazon has a good cancellation policy.

So...any idea if the 2CD version is coming to the States? Or do I just need to order from the UK?

2cd version with both Phantom Radio and No Bells on Sunday is UK/Europe only. Have you seen this Deluxe CD Edition for Pre-Order anywhere yet? It's not listed on Amazon.co.uk and is showing as out of stock on Heavenly's website, but the regular edition is on Amazon.co.uk and in stock on Heavenly's website?
