Yesterday I watched a Renault car advertisment on the Austrian TV. It covered a song from Mark that I didn't knew, perhaps from the new album. Anyone saw this ad too? Didn't find the right clip on youtube.

Is it confirmed that it's him? There's a bit of (for want of a better term) Louis Armstrong-ing in the way the words are put out that sounds nothing like Mark. Unless it was recorded at a time when his voice was utterly banjoed.

I don't think it is Lanegan singing. The singer sounds a little like English is not his first language.

interesting.
I'm quite sure it is Mark. The singer expresses words like "every", "smilings" or "good" in a way that I only know from Mark.
If it's not Mark, it would be interesting to know who the singer is...I've sent an inquiry to Renault Austria. Perhaps they know...

Similar to Mark vocals but I think it's not Mark, but great vocal, interested who the singer is, too.

Ok, ok you all won. You're the experts! It's not Mark...and I'm a bit ashamed for not recognizing the differences in the voice. I own every record he has made as a solo artist, but was catched by the spot anyway. It's a french artist that sung in English for the Austrian (German) version of the spot. That made the search difficult. Here are a few samples from youtube: www.youtube.com/watch?v=A35G-cUx3mYwww.youtube.com/watch?v=_xu-itfhKP0Artist is called Maximilien Philipe. Very interesting voice imo. The english full version of the popular song "c'est si bon" - it's so good - has never been found. Could be, that it has never been released. Thanks all for the help and pinning me to: IT'S NOT MARK. that widened my view for the search. Renault Austria told me that the song is: c'est si bon by André Hornez & Ange Betti - which is the original but definetly not the song which was performed by Maximilien Philipe.
