Hi folks, Eggat from Berlin, Germany here, I'm a longtime forum lurker, big Lanegan fan obviously and a DJ as well. I will do a Lanegan Tribute DJ set for his 50th birthday (3 days later, on Friday, Nov 28), with lots of his solo stuff, some Screaming Trees, Mad Season, Soulsavers, Gutter Twins, Queens of the Stone Age and so on but also some Fred Neil, Neil Young, Gene Clark and also some of his more recent favorites and influences thrown in (see for example here: ML Spotify Playlist). It'll take place in a nice lil' rock'n'roll bar in Berlin called Monterey Bar that is specialized on craft beer and whiskey and the evening will be called WHISKEY FOR THE HOLY GHOST. This will be a very special evening to honor the man himself...no MP3's of course, only vinyl and CD's. Check out the facebook event here: www.facebook.com/events/1532618456986601/I'd be glad to welcome some of you there on November 28 to celebrate! Please spread the word to other Lanegan enthusiasts Cheers, Eggat a.k.a DJ Eggs Delicious(official flyer designed by Rob Zim)

It was fabulous! A 6 hour musical ride, starting off with songs from Whiskey for the Holy Ghost, The Winding Sheet and so on with some Hank Williams, Gene Clark and Flying Burrito Brothers thrown in, then seguing to some stuff from Bubblegum, Field Songs and Soulsavers after which some more recent post-punk/electro-tinged songs came in (Floor of the Ocean, Under the Cherry Moon (Whomadewho Cover), Ode to Sad Disco) with some Joy Division and Psychedelic Furs in there before a final epic rock'n'roll ride featuring Mad Season, Desert Sessions (Hangin' Tree), some Queens of the Stone Age, some ZZ Top, a Black Sabbath cover by the Screaming Trees (Tomorrow's Dream) and so on.....the night was closed by loooots of Fred Neil while we finished our whiskeys to finally stagger out of a great Mark Lanegan experience! Happy Birthday Mark, once again - thank you so much for all the joy you give us with your music!

Sounds killer. How was attendance? Was it advertised as such? Not knowing how big Mark is in Berlin, it is difficult to know how much of a draw this would be or if it was just something where the music was along for the ride on an evening of enjoying some beverages.

Thanks y'all for your feedback! LostCause: It was really nicely crowded all the way through but I guess that was more due to the bar's delicious craft beers (the bar's speciality) and myself drawing people as well... I was intrigued myself as well if some Mark Lanegan fans and nerds (at all) would show up, having also put actual flyers in a few, very tasteful record stores here in Berlin. I guess that wasn't the case so much, but then again, I'm just one out of hundreds of DJ's on a friday night in a big city...with a very special mission in this case Anyway, it went really great and people really liked it. I got great feedback from friends (big Queens of the Stone Age fans) and when a good friend of mine asked out of the blue to hear "Seven Stories Underground" by the Gutter Twins (and me playing it then of course!) that was the icing on the cake
