I don't know the venue, but I have heard the date is Oct. 3rd. There's some kind of announcement party tonight, I think, so I'm hoping all the details will be available then.
Is anyone going to this? I'm really hoping to go.

I'm going...already got a ticket. I live in Ballard, so yeah, this one is a no brainer! Drinks before the show?

The real question is would he play the outdoor stage or at the tiny Tractor or Sunset? I vote for the Tractor

Still doesn't say on the Macefield site where it will be. But yes, anyone going should definitely meet up before the show! I'm just trying to get my travel plans finalized...

Looks like the actual schedule is up: macefieldmusicfestival.com/schedule/Does anyone know where the 'mainstage' actually is located? I am definitely going, got my plane tickets already!

At the Ballard Seafood Fest last month they had an outdoor stage on Ballard Ave at 22nd, about a block south of the Sunset. The streets cross at an angle so the intersection takes up a fairly large area, plus it's adjacent to a small park. That seemed to work well; there was room for a lot of people and the sight lines were pretty good. I wouldn't be surprised if they're using the same configuration for this.

OW meet-up! I still need to buy a ticket, but I'll be there, holding down the fort and praying I pick a quiet spot with minimal drunkie chicks and sing-alongs.

I'm so excited that Ayron Jones is playing right before Mark. I saw Ayron play a last minute free jam session at Watershed Pub in Northgate recently and it was a mind blowing set. The dude can play a mean guitar so do yourself a favor and don't miss his set.

The music is pretty much straight-ahead rock descended from the likes of Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan, but the man does indeed play a mean guitar and he and his band put on an entertaining show. I'm also looking forward to seeing Girl Trouble later that night. They've been together 30 years and still sound as good as ever. It's always a treat to see them.

Any plans for a formal meet-up? I was thinking of hitting the area kind of early and wandering around, catching a very late lunch/early dinner then hanging out at the Main Stage. Ya'll probably know by now that I'll of course be taping. Maps should be posted soon for the festival itself and there's LOTS of eats and shops in the area - probably all of which will be slammed.

I'd love to meet up with everyone, but I wouldn't know what place to pick. I'm not sure exactly when my friend and I will arrive in Ballard, but if someone names a place and time, I will do my best to get there!

My friend owns a small pub in the heart of Ballard called the Ballard Station Public House. It is just a small pub with beer, wine and liquor, but it is walking distance to "all things Ballard". That's my vote!

The wife and I will be hitting up some of Ballard's finest breweries and tap houses before Ayron and Mark play. Have fun everyone!

Ballard Station Public House theballardstation.com 2236 Nw Market St, Seattle, WA 98107 · 7.16 mi (206) 397-4102 I think that's what used to be the Ballard Ave Pub; I made the sign for that place (a bigger version of the Ballard Ave street sign) but never went there and it didn't last long. I would definitely be up for checking it out in its current incarnation. I will almost certainly be stopping by Reuben's Brews at least once during the weekend, and probably the Noble Fir if it isn't too crowded. Otherwise, I'll be hanging with Raeni when Mark plays and will probably meet some of you then.

This place sounds fine to me, when do people want to meet? I'm unfamiliar with the festival so don't know if we have to be there at doors opening, or is it a more casual affair?

I've not been there, but the mainstage is outdoors and I think it's just an area that's cordoned off, not a formal "venue" at all. I need to grab a copy of the local rag, The Stranger, their website puts the mainstage in Downtown, and that is not right. I was figuring I'd pick a spot during the act before and work my way forward to have a good spot for Lanegan. I and I'm sure others will post more info as we find it for anyone travelling for the show.

Sunshine and lollipops. Mark Lanegan. Sunshine. And. Lollipops. Now I have such images in my head, of Mark doing Shirley Temple-esque numbers, dancing giant lollipops and all. Thank you, Trumsy. Fuck Bloodline, I am going to tell Mark about sunshine and lollipops, crazy Aussies and even crazier Texans!

And now I made a map, based on the shitty map in the Stranger and Google, using my very impressive MS Paint skills. The Main Stage looks to be in a parking lot, which is about what I'd figured it would be. There are a shitload of eats and bars in this area. Not exaggerating.

Hmm, a parking lot. I guess that will do. They must not have been able to close Ballard Ave., which is weird because it will be closed for the Sunday farmer's market anyway.
I'm heading down there tonight to see Full Toilet, which apparently is a punk band with Fastbacks/Young Fresh Fellows guitarist Kurt Bloch as the singer; the band also includes Troy Nelson from the Young Evils and KEXP. Also hoping to check out Grace Love and the True Loves.

Ok, here's the plan: ch3no2, Jen, and I willbe at the main box office at 20th and Ballard around 5pm to get our wristbands. From there we'll pick an eating or drinking place to hang for a while. I'd love to meet up with anyone who can make it, so come meet us there at 5!
