Mark appeared to be unwell with Jeff filling in his parts at times.
He then asked the band to leave the stage. Jeff came out after a few minutes to announce there was a problem and he hoped to let us know if they could continue.
I waited until eventually security told us the gig was over. As I left, Mark was being helped onto the tour bus. He didn't look too good.
Hopefully its nothing more than a bad cold.

Hope he feels better soon and that he can finish the tour. Only three more shows, I believe. Home strech

Hopefully it's a heavy cold issue. When he was speaking between songs briefly to say thanks at the Roundhouse gig on Tuesday I thought his speaking voice sounded a bit hoarse, and he was regularly taking drinks, mid-song in the instrumental parts which I've not seen him do, too much in the past.
Perhaps the length of tour has also impacted him a bit. I think the Dusseldorf gig which was recorded a few years back was done while he was feeling ill, and isn't really the best sounding.
Hoping he has a speedy recovery, whatever it is.

He really can't be doing these three months long tour anymore. It's crazy schedule, sometimes with sixs gigs in seven days. When he played Prague, he drank one Redbull after another. Never seen anything like it.

Never seen anything like it. Yes. He seemed to have a few drinks around the stage. On other matters I picked up the Mescalito vinyl and his Sleevenotes book. Obviously wasn't a signing session. They also had the 2013 Iceland bootleg that I got 5 years or so ago.

I really hope he is alright!
Unfortunately, the way the music biz is these days, I think he is financially forced to tour a lot...

21 songs in Manchester tonight according to Setlist.fm. I guess he’s pulling through.

So some guy has basically trashed Mark over this gig and Mark responded:
I am sorry for your disappointment, sir. Had just received some personally heartbreaking news and it was difficult to concentrate to my full ability. When you have 8 days off in 2 1/2 months sometimes life hits you harder than normal. I'm sure you've had a shit day or two on job.
The guy then responded to himself saying:
I think he was off his face...on god knows what. I feel for the guy and I know he’s had addiction issues in the past but his paying fans deserve better. He was awesome when he played Edinburgh two years ago
He seems like a complete dick looking at other tweets. It would seem though that this ball has been picked up and people are running with it. I corrected someone I know on another forum that Mark is sober these days.

I corrected someone I know on another forum that Mark is sober these days. There was certainly no need for the abusive tweets but some communication with ticket holders would have been better. Seeing your post here is the only thing I have read coming from the band. Perhaps it might have been best to have cancelled or postponed this gig. That touring schedule sounds unhealthy though and they need to think about changing it going forward.

Thanks for sharing that news from Mr Lanegan. Being on the road ain't easy at the best of times (believe me I know), and it's not like Lanegan is doing it at megabucks level. At least we know for sure he doesn't use back-up vox tracks! The internet tends to circumvent our innate social kindness and politeness, to our collective shame. I pity the fool who writes nasty things. Says so much about their inner world and worth. Peace, out.
