Saw this on Barrett’s FB this morning: ”Here it is folks, the official launch of my 4th book, "The Greatest Band That Ever Wasn’t: The Story Of The Roughest, Toughest, Most Hell-Raising Band To Ever Come Out Of The Pacific Northwest, The Screaming Trees.” You can now preorder signed copies through my website link below (US orders only) and the worldwide release will be this coming November 3rd, 2023. I played drums in the Trees for longer than any other band in my career, and I wrote our story like a Greek comedy in 3 Acts. All total it contains 33 short stories that are mostly humorous true tales of the band and all the insane stuff that happened to us during the 1990s, including our short revival in 2012 with the “Last Words” album, and our almost reunion in 2015. I wrote the book as a tribute to my bandmates, especially with the passing of Mark Lanegan and Van Conner in the last couple years. Gary Lee Conner (the Trees founding guitarist) has read it and loved it, and so have several other musicians who worked with the band. Those who know me also know my sense of humor, so that’s the angle I took on the book. Because in order to tell a great story, you have to live it first, which is what the Trees did, to the fullest. Preorders can be taken in this link, and thank you! Barrett“ barrettmartin.com/store/

Why does it say US only, while all other items in the store don't?

Why does it say US only, while all other items in the store don't? I suspect he might have an international distributor

I ordered my copy on the 29th Sunday, someone at Sunyata posted it on Monday and I received at my mailbox earlier today!!
Most likely helps that I'm an in-state recipient, but anyone who's pre-ordered this in the US should definitely keep an eye on their mailboxes this weekend or soon after!

Am wondering how the shows have been. The descriptions of the evening make it sound like he's doing readings as part of the performance. Pity that a good number of the shows have been cancelled...ticket sales, I assume.

Am wondering how the shows have been. The descriptions of the evening make it sound like he's doing readings as part of the performance. Pity that a good number of the shows have been cancelled...ticket sales, I assume. I saw the show in Austin. It was just him on stage with a drum kit, a stand up bass, and a vibraphone (I think?) with some other percussive items near that. He showed a few clips from a TV series that will be coming out soon called Singing Earth where he goes around the world and interacts with indigenous peoples and documents their music. He told some stories about his time in bands, but the Trees didn't get a lot of air time overall. It was cool, but there were maybe 35 people there so it was very intimate and chill.

This last sentence of the review above makes me quite sad.
"With Van Conner also having passed away, unless Gary Lee Conner decides to write a book this is probably the last word on the Screaming Trees."
Begs the question, will Gary write a book? I didn't know the trees until the early 90s. I don't know much about Gary. I would for certain be interested in whatever he would write.
