Sadly, I wasn't that close, but even from where I was standing (which wasn't that far away), it was just as intense a performance. What the fuck are these guys made of? That 'growing old'-thing doesn't seem to happen to them!

I'm looking forward to it! I love owls (even though they're not what they seem!
The Danish word for owl is 'ugle'. The 'g' is mostly mute with a touch of 'j'. What's the Dutch word?

Yes they're not what they seem! I wouldn't have one as a pet, not good for me, but mostly not good for the animal. But the other side of them makes them even more appealing ^^ oh I think I can pronounce that ^^ But I don't think you can pronounce 'uil' the dutch word for owl. The u and the i combo forms together a new sound. I can't think of an english equivalent sound Or maybe if you can speak French, fauteuil comes close.

Pronounciation was the only thing I was ever good at in French class, so I think I sort of can pronounce it. Sort of

Oh and one more thing, ouch language sorry for this but I have to make it straight. The l in uil is a hard l as in love so not a french soft j sounding l (as in fauteuil) that's all!

Think I got it now! Add an 'e' and it almost sounds like the Danish word for lizard - 'øgle'. Languages are fun!

Hej! Yeah! Oh no maybe not haha cause that resembles another dutch vowel eu, but you're close. Speaking of language jeg in danish has the same pronounciation as jij in dutch but jij means you and not I! Hihi and I in dutch is ik, which has the same pronounciation as ikke in danish! So I means you and you means I but I is not! Hihihi
Oh dammit I have to edit this again: you're ffing right! Gush you're good!

'ø' can be pronounced in different ways. If you just say 'ø' (which is both a letter, AND means 'island') is like 'eu', but i 'øgle' it's more like 'eui'. Hihiii, all tht 'you' and 'I' confusion makes me think that I probably understand a LOT less Dutch than I thought (knowing Danish and a bit of German is somewhat helpful. Unless Dutch is spoken really fast. Then I understand fuck all!)

My 8 inch dobsonian telescope arrived this morning, absolutely buzzing. Mrs Jesus rang me from work to say that she's booked for us to go to the Canary Islands on Monday morn for a week because of all the fookin overtime I did. I thought about it for a couple of seconds, then I agreed. Lovely lovely lovely...

Thanks to the kindness of strangers ( and Allison and onewhiskey/fb) I get to go on a low budget holiday this year. Which means I get to have a once in a lifetime Michelin star experience as a treat to myself and to learn from the best. This is going to be in this thread -a lot-!! Have a job interview about a promotion today. Tomorrow I have a very unexpected job interview with a one Michelin star restaurant. Holy shit! Excited much?
