Oh, for eff's sake. Fine. I'm absoute newbie (to this board) enough to ask: so....nice conversation? What'd you all talk about? It's just been a long time since he's been back East, --I was not into Mr. Lanegan through the late 90's--for no other reason than I was *just* getting into the Auld Music that I play now (Irish and Scots trad). Hey, I'm a chick, but I won't flinch if you all call me Rumplestilskin (sp?) Got a little single-minded, mind you. I totally missed Scraps and Field Songs when they happened, and had just picked up on all of his "extracurricular activities" when I bought Blackberry Belle when that recording was released (I thank Mr. Dulli for that heads-up .) I feel like I've missed a near-lifetime of Music I Should Have Been Paying Attention To--including the musician.

I went with my two girls and a couple of my boy's friends (me boy's in Spain right now). Just a determination thing really...I got the tickets early. I took a few photos but my camera is crap so they kind of say...there he comes, there he goes..mostly shoulders and shoes. I found myself standing at the exit, which turned out to be the artists entrance, I couldn't believe my luck. So I made myself as big as I could so no-one could push in. Well, Nick Oliveri was playing and Mark sneaked in to do a couple of songs with him. I had the nerve to ask him if I could take a picture. He was real nice and said could I wait until after so I agreed. Then he did the MLB set and the 'crew' seemed really edgy towards the end so I didn't actually get a pose 'cos he practically flew out the door. But you know, I was like some love-struck teenager so don't ask me about the songs...I just swayed, gawked and snuck a few snap shots. But I have to say that I bumped into the dressing room after on my way to the loo and saw the guys from Black Velvet and they did a groupie pose with me. They were a great bunch of guys...very funny and nice. I would post the pic but I'm afraid of giving innocent people nightmares 'cos I look gross. Anyway, at the end of it all I have an image to recall whenever you guys talk about your encounters now and I'm overjoyed with that. Thanks for the warm welcome back Davey...maybe I'll get used to this board and join in more often. No offence to Debbie at all but the giantrhino was sooooo simplistic. Does Rob post here still? I've seen Mokkly's ramblings. How's the band going? I will get to get your cd one day. I hope you are keeping well and have a great Xmas. Luv OGW
