QOTSA in Olympisky rocked the house! The performance was especially strong. QOTSA have shown to Russians who rules the planet at the moment!
No Mark, no Nick quite depressed us all (especially my precious wife), but the guys really worked out nicely. The sound in this Olympic palace is always suckes and Garbage and Fooz's sound was as shitty as, let say, Deep Purple and Whitesnake's half a year ago. Who cares for the noize if Josh walks among the dance floor crowd of pissed off Russian punks!!!
Seriously, the show was something to be experienced in. There was no beer in the house, you can't smoke if you don't want to be kicked off from the concert. There was about 40 percent tickets sold out and the place wasn't packed at all... What a lousy thing about our native country!!! It's a shame what we can't packed a place with warheads on the events like QOTSA gig. I have a friends who came for a gig from St. Petersburg, Petrozavodsk and Murmansk and we were so amazed that the place wasn't packed! I think that only stupid old farts like Nazareth or Slade could have a sold out show in Mother Russia.
Don't bother to write down a set list, the show was about 45 min long, but the band was so tight that none of showing off assholes like @qotsa wanna be@ Dave "college cheer leader" fucking ex-Nirvana drummer could beat! You can't compare Foo Fighters with QOTSA anyway and as mighty Oliveri once said "Dave's place is behind the drums, that's were he belongs"-he can not sing fuck! Sorry for my French...
Speciall thatx goes to Natasha Shnaider, her almost perfect Russian was something that rocked the world of so many Russian youngsters who never heard of Dessert Sessions and a band called Eleven. She was something...
Have some mixed amotion, 'case was waiting for this moment since 1998 when I picked up first QOTSA CD, mostly 'case it was released by Loose Groove (the guy who used to own this label played guitar in Pearl Jam). I think that QOTSA owned us a full time show and maby a mini tour in a major Russian cities! Come on guys, come back some time later (with Mark Lanegan and Nick Oliveri, am I still tripping, huh)...
QOTSA forever!!!
