I just converted this to a .vob file and burnt it to dvd. Had a quick look at it on a 42-inch tv and the quality is great, no blockiness that I noticed. There are frame rate issues due to the conversion but they are fairly negligible. I'm gonna have a tinker and see what I can do but seriously don't be put off downloading this (rimb's torrent), it's great quality.
Thanks again rimb, much obliged.

The one I used was Aimersoft Total Video Converter, pretty much drop the file in and choose what format you want to convert it to. It has different quality options you can set as well if you are so disposed (as I am!). I'm gonna try ffmpeg next to attempt to correct the frame rate, see what happens with that.
As a side note, your avatar has the lyrics of possibly my favourite Lanegan song, such a touching, emotional piece of work...... *cough* anyway, as you were!

just wondering...what program do you use to convert to avi? I know I've done it recently, but can't remember what I used. it was possibly a free trial version of something I don't have anymore. so, any reccomendations? PS. I watched snippets so far, not the whole thing, but it seems pretty good!! PPS. Should this thread be moved to the DL section?

ah, thanks nobody. that is the one i used before, but i had no problem getting another free trial version (that's what your link was for, right?) anyway, i thought they would track if I already dl'ed it before, but I guess they don't! So I have my copy burned. Thanks for all the help along the way!

The one I used was Aimersoft Total Video Converter... I was hoping it was a free program. I usually use Super, but for reasons unknown it's giving me an error with this FLV. I guess I'll wait for now, hoping someone will seed a VOB file. No harm in watching it on my computer in the meantime. ;D It is as you say.

I like to work exclusively with Xvid for editing; don't really care much for the other formats. Took me awhile to figure out how to convert BluRay mkv to Xvid but I finally got it.

did anyone else's audio not line up with the video when they converted it? damn, it makes it annoying to watch, i will definitely have to redo this. (and its not just the burned dvd...the converted file on my computer is off too).

ntsc...but the problem was with the conversion from flv to avi i think, not with the dvd burning.. I checked the converted file on my computer and the audio doesn't match on it either. i think i should be able to fix it with windows movie maker.

I checked the converted file on my computer and the audio doesn't match on it either. i think i should be able to fix it with windows movie maker. shoot, i guess its not as easy to do as i thought! I tried converting it again with prism, but got even worse results with the audio not lining up with the video. The flv video itself plays fine on the wimpyplayer, but I would like to burn this to dvd so i can watch it on my tv and then its not stored on my computer. any other free video converters I should try? lol, every time I look for this thread I go to the download section before remembering where it is.

I'm uploading the .flv to megaupload right now and it's telling me it will be done in about 2 and a half hours. When it's done i will start a new thread in the download section and post the link there for all to enjoy! I was just looking at the converted file, and the avi is bigger than the flv, so I'm not sure if megaupload will accept it if you try to convert it to avi for me. feel free to try though, and I will keep my fingers crossed. If anyone else has a working copy of the avi format and is willing to megaupload that before my upload of the flv finishes, please feel free to.

This is a bit of a longshot (and slightly embarrassing...) but I can't locate this file anymore that I shared 14 years ago!
Does anyone happen to have it still and could share it with me please?
