I actually have the whole show downloaded from this site.
I remember when the first video surfaced (maybe a year ago) I used some software to try and download it and it just kept going and going until I had the whole show!
I tried for a while to convert it to a nice looking DVD (which of course I was going to share) but it all got a bit difficult with frame rates, re-encoding etc. and I just forgot about it.
Anway, I have the whole thing sitting here on my hard drive as a 720MB flv file that runs for 91 minutes.
I'm guessing there's going to be a bit of demand for this, so I'll upload it somewhere this weekend. It would be great if someone could convert it into a nice DVD like I was trying to.
Would people prefer a torrent or something like megaupload?

I could only imagine how long it would take to upload and download from a site like that with their bandwidth caps. Torrent please.  |

Torrent please. MU's max file size is 1GB. And uploading is lightning fast. As for download, it's all down to the individual's internet service. Also, there's a great free program called HJ-Split that you can use to split files that can then be uploaded separately, downloaded, then rejoined once you have all the pieces. It makes dl-ing big files even easier for people with spotty or slow connections. ...I just really felt like an infomercial or PSA just then.  |

Wow, I guess they've upgraded it since the last time I've had to use it. They MUST limit download speeds somehow, though, as otherwise they'd have no reason to pitch their paid "Premium" service. Or maybe they're making more money off those skanky 'local singles' pop up ads than they make off the Premium service?

Well, they do limit how much you can download, but it's quite a lot. And once you reach the limit, it's like 2 hours or so until the limit resets. Y'know, maybe they do limit the speed. It's entirely possible I've just never noticed, since with a free account I get as fast as around 550 kb/sec, with an average of about 300, which is on par with what I get anywhere else I dl.
With Premium, there's no dl limit, and you can do files bigger than 1GB, and your uploads never expire.

I guess because it's a FLV (Flash video) and is meant to be embedded in a website to be viewed it won't play with any standard software. You have to download a special player for it: www.wimpyplayer.com/products/wimpy_standalone_flv_player.htmlAnd, though it's really awesome to have a full show, now viewing it I wouldn't describe it as "HQ" or consider transferring it to DVD. It's blocky looking even on full screen on my laptop.  Thanks for capturing & sharing it, though, Rimb. |

It has the same quality as the website, just not "DVD quality" (which I never said it did). A 90 minute show in a 700MB file will never give you that!
I'd say the quality is comparable to a typically compressed DVD film you would download from a torrent site.
