Yes indeed, awful to see someone go before three score and ten. A real shame that we won't see Mr Moore become an elder guitarist like those he himself idolised. Still, he was worthy immortal through art a long time ago.
The only time I ever saw Gary Moore was a few years ago when they unveiled the Phil Lynott bronze statue in Dublin off Grafton St. He arrived with two serious-looking bouncers to a huge cheer to the assembled crowd. Mr Moore looked like he wasn't one for public appearances - apart from the stage - so it says something that he was willing to help out with the statue.
@m0ng0 - "not a big fan of Lizzy"? Lordy Lordy man! Check their '75-'79 output, for heaven's sake. They'd balls the size of cantaloupes.
