Ok, so I was finally able to read it... it's a good one. I'm glad you took the time to talk about Mark's lyrics... I feel he doesn't get enough praise on that front.

Thanks. I've always felt he was absurdly overlooked as a lyricist, but then, he's criminally overlooked altogether. He ranks up there with Waits and Cohen in my estimation.

I'm sure you've all heard the beginning of Deel Black Vanishing Train, where Mark says something and it's in reverse... Anyway, I just isolated that part and reversed it back and it sounds like he says "I finally plead myself". This may be a useless piece of information, but I don't remember Mark doing something similar in the past. You can listen to it here: soundcloud.com/marmelaki/deep-black-vanishing-train

No, it's 'I've finally freed myself" - the refrain of the song.

That makes sense (that he'd use the refrain), but if you put it real loud it sounds like a "pl..." instead of a "fr...". Maybe he says "finally peed myself" ;D

Mark is fucking hilarious...when the backwards part at the beginning is played forward he says both "I have finally freed myself" and "I have finally peed myself" ...is this his humor towards getting older? ha! good schtuff...
