This was brought to our attention in the "All the Rest" section by member fdn9119. Link to original postI usually don't look at the all the rest posts, but luckily stumbled on this thread and discovered some unreleased Lanegan. All credit for this find goes to fdn9119, but I'm starting this thread here as like myself I'm sure a lot of members won't bother clicking on stuff that isn't in the main forum. According to the end credits there are FIVE SONGS used in the movie written and performed by Mark Lanegan, and I've only heard of one of them: Methanphedamine Blues (sic) A Suite for Dying Love Checkout I'll go Where You Send Me No Long Goodbye Here is a link to the song "No Long Goodbye" used at the movie's ending and also playing through some of the end credits. Watch the credits for the Lanegan songs listed that are played at some point in the movie. youtu.be/5zcPwYQQYi0

I emailed justice records last night and this is the reply I just got: My name is Randall Jamail and I produced those recording sessions with Mark Lanegan in 2003. Mark is very particular about how and when material that he has recorded comes out. There was never a soundtrack album produced for the film Cook County, however, some of those songs will be included in a retrospective compilation on Mark Lanegan which will be released some time in 2013.
I appreciate your interest and hopefully in time more of the material from those recording sessions will surface.
Very Best Regards,
Randall Jamail Justice Record Company

You would think they could spell "Metamphetamine" correctly when that's what the movie is about?

I've come to the conlusion that there is at least one other song from the "Randall Jamail Sessions" and possibly an entire album that got scrapped. Here's why. Since receiving the email from Randall, I've been scratching my head trying to come up with the connection. The only thing I could come up with is that he produced the Twisted Willie CD (She's Not For You.) Then this morning I woke up with it. He also produced a demo version of the song "Hit the City," which as far as I know has never been made available. This is confirmed in the liner notes to Bubblegum. I actually enquired about this on the forum back in 2006, but i guess nobody knew the answer! onewhiskey.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=boarda&thread=130&page=2#2746

Thanks a lot for these. And the movie is quite good as well. One of the song sounds reallly like what he did on the Winding Sheet LP!! Others are only short snippets and hard to judge. But it seems overall that it has more to do with what he wrote before Bubblegum

Hi My name is Randall Jamail and I was the producer of the recording sessions that included the songs from the movie Cook County. There we 15 songs recorded during those sessions. Also, if you are interested, I produced mark's contribution to The West Memphis 3 compilation.
