DC show was fucking awesome as expected. Nice little part in the middle of One Way Street when he told someone shining a camera on him to "turn the fucking light off buddy, thank you." Then at the end of the song he realized it was a woman and he said "sorry ma'am, I thought you were a dude." Was pretty funny.
Same set list as Philly minus Torn Red Heart but plus Tiny Grain Of Truth to close out the main set.

She sung on Quiver Syndrom, Hit The City, Floor of the Ocean, Waltzing in Blue and Methamphetamine Blues! Oh!!! does the two lovers looked in the eyes while singing??? Hahaha, no they didn't! But they did kiss when she left the stage! :-)

For some reason I thought his audible sigh after ripping through Gravedigger's Song was hilarious.

Haven't really had much time to post, but I was at the San Fran gig (with my old man, who is a HUGE Mark fan thanks to me). I stopped by early, as my hotel was around the corner and heard some of a Mark-less soundcheck. Along with a Fielder-fronted "Harvest Home" was "Sad Lover", which Jeff also sang on. It sounded excellent, so I'm curious as to why it hasn't been included in the sets yet. There was another incident of ML putting a fan in her place. Between songs a gal near the front gently commented that she couldn't hear his vocals, to which he replied "I dunno what to tell ya, lady. Maybe go find somewhere else that sounds better". As a front row veteran of all kinds of gigs, I know that by being at the front, I risk enduring a less-than optimal aural experience. I guess that fact isn't obvious to everyone, though. As always, I wish the gig had lasted longer, but I know what to expect going in. Knew something was getting the axe when Mark went around to each band member & later saw that it was "Torn Red Heart" that we were missing out on. I was surprised that of all the BF material kept for this tour, "Ode to Sad Disco" was dropped. "Riot in My House" sounded massive, with Fielder really tearing it up. Of the new tracks, "Death Trip to Tulsa" really stood out for me live, as it kicked all kinds of ass. We talked to Mark afterwards, who was really lovely. I really don't like publicly disclosing what we discuss, but I have a feeling the European tour will see a significant change or two. As for the support, I found Lyenn a bit dry this time around. Not sure why, but I was less into his set this time around than on the Imitations tour. Sean and Zander were good fun, though I could totally picture Mark meeting Sean in a methadone clinic many years ago. Bracing myself for Garwood again come January... Here's the drummer's setlist, by the way. I have no idea what the circles mean. Mark Lanegan Band 1 November 2014 setlist by Mister J Photography, on Flickr

So how long was he on stage? Sounded an awesome gig! It didn't seem like he was on much longer than an hour or so. He started sometime after 10 and it was all over at about 11:15 or 11:30. It was my 3rd time seeing him and it's still a huge thrill hearing One Way Street and One Hundred Days live. I'm hooked. After the concert I got lost in Cleveland and ended up in a neighborhood full of signs for a place called Whiskey Island. Thought that was funny considering why I happened to be in Cleveland. The Grog Shop was very small, which I like and the sound quality was superb. Met some nice local people at the concert too. All in all a great concert experience.

I would hope he plays longer than 70 mins in Europe. His last tour was about that length but considering his back catalogue you would expect a good 90 mins.

I know the shortness of the sets is getting to be a disappointment to many. One thing I haven't seen mentioned, and was very obvious at the San Fran gig when Mark came back onstage for the encore, was his walk - in this case, bad limp - like he couldn't even bend his right knee. It looked to pain him so much that my inner "Mom" voice went into overdrive and I nearly called out "Oh, poor baby!" I would never have forgiven myself if I had said that out loud! It makes me wonder how that might also be contributing to the sets getting shorter, and how much longer he's going to be performing the shows standing.

I suspect it's the getting run over by a combine tractor when he was 18 and re-breaking his leg in the '90's catching up to him. Sadly, that shit can come back at you with a vengeance.

I think a few people on the previous tour noticed that he seemed to be limping a bit then too, and actually sat down during a large part of the encore of Halo of Ashes at pretty much every gig. Maybe that accident is catching up with him. I wonder if we will start to see more seated-style gigs as he gets older.

UK types - has anyone's tickets turned up from See yet? I know that they're generally beyond crap at the best of times, but they do seem to be cutting it slightly finer than usual...

Still waiting on mine from See too. Apparently they are still "awaiting delivery of tickets for this event". To be fair they've never let me down in the past, but I'll feel a lot happier when I get that despatch email.

Anyone else gonna be at the Barby, March 23? I won't know what time it is, what day it is, or what continent I'm on, so I'll probably be a gas.

Mmm . My brains been tickin over lately about this Hebden Bridge gig, at first I was thinking yep just a run o the mill (festival) set list. But seen its a kinda celebratory shindig I dunno!!. I think Sad lover will be included now (why rehearse !). Mr Garwood's new stuff sounds excellent , will ML join him or vice versa ??. Im sorry for waffling, I'm gonna stop now . Happy New Year everyone .

See have confirmed that the Manchester tickets have finally been sent out - bit of a pain as that the one show out of the lot that I might not be able to get to (thanks to the early set time) and am not hugely thrilled about visiting in the first place (I always end up running into terrible people from my past at this place!)

Good news about them being finally sent out. Manchester is the only show I can afford to do this time around but the venue is great.

London ticket's here now - and looking at the date, I might not be able to get to this one either. Gah. I'll have a bloody good go though.
In other news, the Manchester show has changed its opening time from 1830 to 1900. No mention of the curfew being any later though, so don't hang about.
