Great seeing you again too, Miracle, and meeting Chenille (sorry if I spelled it wrong!)And the nice guy behind me who's name I didn't catch, who'd driven up from Mexico. I loved the LA show for Mark and the band, the song selection, the sound, the signing. But the audience felt weird! Nothing bad or wrong happened, and everyone clapped, and not many people talked through. I just feel a little like there's a lack of excitement, or something? Maybe things have changed over the years, now that Mark plays a lot more often, but there's no more weeping folks in the front saying they can't believe they get to see the show. In the US we always whine about how few shows Mark does here compared to UK and Europe, but as I read the board here, there are far more posts from folks from overseas posting about how many shows they're going to and how excited they are - I miss that about US fans. I know there's still a bunch of us - I just wonder what's different. If people have seen enough of the live shows, can't afford it, don't like the new album?
Then again, I over-analyze. I still thought it was a great show!

I second that LA did have a weird vibe going on. The crowd tended to keep to themselves in-line and before the show. There were definitely friendly folks, and then there were people I had met before that could not be bothered to interact. Whatever. Dudes from Mexicali were stoked (congrats on the IG win) as was Chanel who flew in from FLORIDA!! I will always be excited to see Mark and am completely unable to contain that feeling when inline or infront of the stage. He's amazing and is just such a tremendous presence. To see the drummer do what he does from the first note of Gravediggers song, floors me in awe.
I do remember so many people crying at my first solo show, and didnt notice that from anyone else or myself this time around. Maybe we're all in a better mental space? Maybe its the choice of songs? It was a great performance but it wasnt that time at the ECHOPLEX with random guys shouting at the stage, WE LOVE YOU LANEGAN. <where were they?

Usually I hate shows in the States and I'm used to seeing Lanegan in Europe and I thought the audience was into it at the El Rey... I really loved the show too, the setlist was perfect, can't wait for the European tour now! :-)

I still thought it was a great show! I've definitely noticed the lack of enthusiasm/excitement in the crowd, mostly for the DC shows, Philly usually has a pretty engaged turn out. Hell, the crowd in DC last year was incredibly light and dead, I'm shocked still stops there on tour (I''m thankful he still does). The set lists are definitely more energetic this year (with a full band and all) so hoping for a little more excitement crowd-wise this year.

I have videos, but they're huge file sizes [500mb+ each] and I don't like uploading to facebook as the quality gets degraded. Will try for youtube, unless someone wants to host them on a site? These photos didn't turn out well at all. his lighting tends to cause that, unless you turn the flash on your camera on, and I'm NOT gonna do that when right in front of him.. The videos will make up for it. Seattle, A clean setlist before I got Mark to scribble on it. Los Angeles, Soundboard setlist. I had him write, 'are you gonna drown" off of Death Trip to tulsa. with whatever else was going on that night, and in my life in general, hearing him sing that, stood out the most to me.

If he toured Canada - you would get to see that again!

Philly setlist. Great show, but think this was the shortest set list on this tour so far. No Disco, Tiny Grain, Waltzing In Blue, Bombed, Judgement Time, or Wild People.
Gravedigger's Song Harvest Home Sleep With Me One Way Street One Hundred Days Resurrection Song Riot In My House Quiver Syndrome Floor Of The Ocean (sounded awesome live) Hit The City Creeping Coastline Of Lights Harborview Hospital Torn Red Heart (fantastic, he needs to keep this in the set at all shows) Black Rose Way Death Trip To Tulsa
Encore I Am The Wolf Methamphetamine Blues

We got a short show, but I enjoyed both opening acts immensely, and Mark was really talkative, and seemed in no rush at the signing. He took a lot of time with each person or group, and we actually got out later than we ever have from one of his shows.
Once again though, he was great, and the band was great. One thing about him so far, is that he never disappoints with a sub-par performance. I also love the current lineup. He needs to keep Jeff forever if he can...

The setlist for Cleveland was the same as Philly as far as I can remember. Excellent concert. Did not weep but leaned against a pillar for part of the concert to prevent fainting.
Loved Floor of the Ocean live too.

Inthefade, what time did the opening & main acts go on? NY tonight, not sure will make the openers but definitely don't want to miss the main. Thanks

In Philly he went on at 10:30, 90 minutes after the show started. So I'm guessing he goes on at 9:30 tonight.
I didn't know prior to the show Jeff was playing with the band so that was an awesome surprise. I love watching him play. I mentioned that to Mark afterwards and he agreed, saying he thinks this is the best lineup he's had and want to keep Jeff with him as long as he can. He also mention how he was roommates with Dylan Carlson in the 80's and how he's had to turn down touring with Earth twice now due to his own tour commitments.

Doors opened at 8:00, the first act went on at 9:00, but it was only a 20 minute set. Shortly after, the second act came on, and they played for maybe 30 minutes. And as Coma said, MLB started at around 10:30.

darn it if the band didn't go on at 9pm last nite in NY (or 8:55 more precisely, someone said). Got there at 9:26... intended to get there 9 to see Lyenn but local subway wasn't running, then we just missed a train... sigh, missed 5 or so songs. songs from the new album sound meh on the album (a little flat?, one dimensional?) but phenomenal played live
