yeah....i've been to san diego.
it's real pretty and downtown is right on the water, plus there's a real nice new ball field in the gaslamp quarter. the trolley is very convenient, and they've got a great live music club at the casbah. what a great place......
i've seen pavement there, drive like jehu, rocket from the crypt, mudhoney......
but i've never seen mark lanegan band there, thats for sure. and i wasn't there last night.
i'm going tonight.
suckas.

Ophiaca, you might wanna rethink that - "When I'm bound I stretch like bubblegum" signature... the song's called bombed. the lyric is when im bombed, i stretch like bubblegum... i hate it when people quote lyrics wrong. it must be so embarrassing for the person who wrote it to be misunderstood. here's an example (that ive told people about before)... ed vedder... lyric to Leash = 'drop the leash, drop the leash! get out of my fucking face!' some girl - i cant believe you're so racist. ed - huh? some girl - saying that about japanese people... so rude... i thought you were nice... 'Japanese, Japanese - get out of my fucking face...' ed - err... anyway. cue remark from carlito telling us that he doesnt like pearl jam... yawn... dont worry about it, ive not listened to a pearl jam record in about a year... so you can still adopt me. you gonna see the mark lanegan band this year then? old hat, my man... seen them twice already... months ago... i'll prob go and catch them again next month though... anyway... ive lost track of the point... what was the point? what IS the point? m.

Hm, is that an approved fact? I thought Mark never has his lyrics published? ONly because the song is called "Bombed" doesn't meant the word has to appear in the lyrics as well. I think I like it better with "bound" instead of "bombed". Also he always says we shall make up our own minds about what we think the lyrics mean to us and such. I'll have to think about that... But thanks, I appreciate the hint. Dag

I think I like it better with "bound" instead of "bombed". Dag dunno, just a thought, but I like it when i get the lyrics that the author meant - don´t know why, its just a thing i´ve had for years, ever since I was able to understand english, for instance.... *ahem...

But thanks, I appreciate the hint. Dag it is 'bombed'; it makes more sense. 'bound' implies restriction, thus making the rest of the lyric totally impotent. making up your own mind about what they mean isn't the same as making up your mind about what they are, obviously there is no official source, but you know what i mean. doing what 'he' says isn't really the absolute guideline either, since he's just a rock star. if you're looking for someone to inspire you or guide you, start reading philosophy or something.

What's wrong with you guys? Do you all split hairs as a hobby? I thought this was a board for fans, who enjoy the music and want to chat a bit with each other, not pedants who want to piss off everybody. Can't a girl post anything here in all innocence without being harressed and such? Do I have to check everything I write here in a dictionary so you guys won't take offense? I'm not a native speaker for god's sake, so back off. And trust me, I don't need a rockstar to tell me how to live, I've always managed that on my own, thanks a lot. But it looks like you guys should check out a book on etiquette or something.

Hallelujah, there's someone with a sense of humor here! Thank you. my sense of humour is tempered by my sense of overwhelming disgust at you misquoting someone and then saying you like your version better. dig?
