I'm starting to question this man's choice in food. Either he needs a personal chef to prepare meals for him or he needs to stick with safe foods like crackers with peanut butter.
I hope he's ok though. I mean, damn, he had to be taken to the hospital.

The previous two acts were stellar though. I really liked the first band. I have no idea who they were though. They never introduced themselves. One guitarist looked a lot like Troy Van Leeuwen. Needless to stay my eyes were pretty glued onto him.
And Nick's performance! Oh God! Amazing. So, it's just him with his guitar and I'm thinking, "Oh, this is going to be a nice, peaceful little event. How nice. How not what I was expecting." So he stands up to the mic and is looking very calm and relaxed and all of a sudden, *strum* "I HATE YOU!" It gave me a serious shock. Anyway his whole opening song was about hating someone. His closing song was about him, "not having the bloody hammer." I really enjoyed it. He's awesome. I thought he was a very good singer.
Some total meathead jerk asked Nick where Mark was when Nick was about halfway through his set. Tasteless. I hate when people do that. So disrespectful to the artist who is trying to perform on stage.
Then the show was cancelled and we had a choice of either staying there and getting a ticket voucher for Mark’s makeup show which they said would happen within four months or we could get a refund. I chose for the voucher so I stayed a really long time because so many other people made the same choice. I was one of the last one’s out and who do I end up walking up the street with? Well, practically. He was walking about ten paces in front of me. Nick Oliveri.

did the gang meet before/after the show? did you party like animals? I had other plans so I didn't meet up with them. I'm assuming they all did though. Yah, I know, lame of me but maybe next time. Mark's supposed to be back "within four months."

Nope. No poster. At least I didn't see one. Like I said, I was one of the last one's out and by the time I passed the merchandise table the only things they were advertising were two different colored t shirts, MLB CD's and records.

The cool screenprint posters are done by Justin Hampton (www.justinhampton.com). I know he did one for last year but he only printed 100 and they went really fast.
The stage manager for the showbox said Mark get food poisoning yesterday afternoon and could barely do soundcheck, that he'd been afflicted with "the shits". Which is a sad, pitiful picture. The opening band was the Icarus Line. I thought Nick's set was great, but when he did 'Four Quarters' and Mark didn't come out, I got a tad worried. Damn you undercooked food! However I did enjoy going up to the nearest bar with the onewhiskey list and getting a drink.

He must have been severely dehydrated then too. He's supposed to play Portland tonight, isn't he? I wonder if he'll be there for the show? Icarus Line... ahhh. So that's the name of the band. Do you know if they're a local act? Did the meathead jerk make the Mark comment after Nick did "Four Quarters?" That wouldn't make him such a meathead then. In fact, it would make sense that he would ask Nick that question.

Just to make us feel a bit worse, I saw the setlist and it would have been an amazing show. Now we have to wait again and again ... again....

Was the lineup very different from his other shows? Can you list the songs for us? I'm curious to know what I missed out on.

Yes, Most of it were the same from the other shows. I'm gonna try to remember them, but it won't be in order cause I took a very fast look just before they annouced that he wouldn't play.
I'm sure that Wedding dress was the first and Methamphetamine Blues was the last before the "encore", which I couldn't see.
Wedding Dress No easy action Sleep with me On Jesus program Low Message to Mine Skeletal History I'll take care of You Creeping Coasline of Lights (**) Hit the city Sideways in reverse Come to me Little Willie John Death Valley Blues When you're number isn't up (**) Ressurection Song Methamphetamine Blues
(**) I think I saw those but not totally sure anymore.
I saw other people looking at it, so maybe they have a better memory, so they could correct it.
Anyway, I just hope that when he will come back it will be the best show ever, cause now I don't expect anything less.

Care to expand on that mister m0ng0. ;D
Was Mark able to play down in Portland last night? How was the show?
And I'd just like to point out (as someone else pointed out to me earlier), Mark and I are having one hell of a time here. First the spring show was cancelled. He was supposed to play with the Twilight Singers I think and now his other Seattle show is cancelled. What the hell is going on? If something happens and his make-up show is cancelled, I'm going to start to think something's up. Hmph.

Yeah, I'm not very happy either with that. I came down from Vancouver for that show, took vacation days, took the 4 hours bus, rent a hotel room. Those 2 days were Hell beginning from end!! Everything was going wrong, so like 5 min. before they make the annouce, I told my friend "what if Mark doesn't show up?". And guess what???

Care to expand on that mister m0ng0. ;D mmmmm......shelly . . .. . . . . . . . . . . . .. . im bad with song names, but the setlist france posted seems pretty acurate. Icarus Line was great (as I tried to tell you m0f0s ) the best part of there set was this heckler after the first song saying the typical (you guys suck) so the guitarist called him up to the stage and started swinging his guitar at him and hit him a couple of times hehehe. Nick's set was dreadful to my ears, was not really familiar with his acoustic stuff, but its definitely not my cup of tea. Sounded ok but I was not into this at all Mark came on and the place starting swingin, his music comes across alot heavier in this enviroment, even makes sideways in reverse bearable he was his typical chatty self thruout....I think he said thanks once If he did an encore after Meth blues I missed it as I was out of gas and had an hour drive to get home.......but I must say he was intense last night....wish I could go tonight Did not see any of the peeps from the board unless somebody was the hot girl at the bar with lots of tattoos I was "chatting" with

The pressure to perform, the fear of failing, the horror of possibly having to listen to the words "it's alright, honey, it happens to every man once in a while.." Don't worry, hopefully everything will turn out alright on your third try, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.
