Hearing about that knobjockey in NZ f'n up the show for everyone makes my blood boil.
While I am more than grateful Mark is in Oz, it is a shame he is not playing a seated venue like the gutter twins show last year. People at least seem to show respect and listen intently when seated.
Oh well, fingers crossed no fool ruins everyones night like in NZ.

Thanks to Mark and Dave for tonight's performance.
So great to see him nailing a performance like that.
No surprises in the setlist, very happy to get On Jesus' Program & Wild Flowers.
Off to bed now, gotta get up in 5 hrs for flight to Sydney.
Plenty of signed Cd's of the Leeds gig for sale again too.

Hey folks, would someone attending the Aust shows mind picking me up a copy of the Live at Leeds disc if I paypal some dollars. I live in Tasmania and couldn't make it over. I've also posted this on the Mess & Noise forum if by chance anyone hangs over there.
Cheers!

Poster of the concert in Melbourne. Oh, I just had to order this one! Rhys Cooper has been running a small limited edition series of silk screens of this poster and the 2004 one, which you can order here.

Just got back from the Sydney show. WOW! It was definitely as amazing as everyone on here has already stated (re other shows), and worth the 5 hour round trip to get there! My only complaint is that it wasn't long enough....nowhere near long enough. The time just flew by, from the moment he first opened his mouth with When Yer # Isn't Up , to the final moments of Hanging Tree. Mark's voice was incredible and David's guitar playing was sublime. He didn't say much other than introducing David Rosser and thanking the support act. There was a sweet exchange between David and Mark at one stage. David started playing the wrong song and Mark just shook his head at him. David then pointed to his set list (that was taped to the top of his guitar). Mark shook his head again then pointed to his set list on the ground. David humbly conceded it was his error, Mark smiled and the "correct" song started. No words were exchanged, and everyone in the first few rows laughed. It was a really nice moment. I was really, really close. So close that I could've touched Mark's shoes if I wanted to be creepy, but I chose not to. Actually it was a bit too close for my liking, but as I'm vertically challenged I didn't complain. I took a shit load of photos, but as it was so dark (and I was way too close to use the flash), not that many turned out too well. I've posted the better ones here: s766.photobucket.com/albums/xx310/Beyond_The_Pale/Mark%20Lanegan%20Sydney%208th%20July%202010/We hung around for a little while afterwards hoping to meet Mark and David, but it started to rain, and we had a long drive home, so we left. Such a good night!

I got to meet him after the Corner show, I gushed too much but made him chuckle and he really is the sweetest guy. Tonight am off to the Espy for one last joyous moment that has to keep me satisfied until next time. Thanks Mark & Dave for bringing the shows to us down here x

Just got back from Sydney and off to second Melbourne show in a few hours.
I enjoyed Sydney show slightly more than the first Melbourne show for whatever reason, but the boys were spot on both nights.
Set lists to follow but the only difference between Wed in Melbourne and Thursday in Sydney was the inclusion of Field Song!!! (at the expense of Resurrection Song).
Not sure if he has played Field Songs on this tour yet but that was a welcome treat for me.

I had a great time at the Sydney show hearing all my favourite songs. Do prefer those songs in full band mode though and I thought Dave's guitar playing was a little bit vanilla. Good crowd of hard-core Lanegan devotees.
Not sure there's anything I can add to what's already written about this tour. It was everything I expected and not much more.

6/7/10 @ The Zoo - Brisbane. They definitely didnt do Strange Effect and I cant be sure about The River Rise. (this was because I was so in awe/excited!!) I also noticed that he was grimacing and having the occasional cough and when I asked him about it the next nite after the Corner show he confirmed he had a sore throat but it was much better. Unfortunately at the Corner hotel I wasnt close enough to get or see the setlist. Hopefully someone else will post. I know they didnt do Strange Effect or Shanty Man. Attachments:

I was at Melbourne sydney and melbourne shows and remember the setlist, will post tomorrow if I have time. The only difference between the first melbourne show and the sydney show was that Ressurection Song was dropped for Field Song.... more to come.
