Mark will cover an old Afterhours' song called "Pelle" on their re-released masterpiece "Hai paura del buio?" (1997).
Still don't know if he will sing in italian (I think he'll do...).
Anyway here the preview:
...and the original:

Amazon Italia has this for preorder (Amazon EU types, it links with your local Amazon account), and comes with Autorip so even if it doesn't arrive on release day (March 11), you'll have a digital copy anyway. Link is here, or at least I think it is as I can't read Italian! It's a 2-disc set, presumably one's the original and t'other is the reworking. Seems to be an eclectic mix of vocalists on there (not seen a full list, but Damo Suzuki's enough to convince me)

Coolness, just when I was thinking about getting more of their music as I really like Ballad for Little Hyenas (which I wish came in a "both languages" version - I can't understand Italian, but I like listening to it) and have been listening to them on Spotify. Thank goodness Google Chrome likes to offer to translate things, most of the ordering process works just like ordering on the US amazon but of course there were a couple of extra steps regarding currency conversion. Got me a copy ordered.

90 Euros on vinyl? Cheeky sods.
Still, at least it looks like fun.

Ballad for Little Hyenas (which I wish came in a "both languages" version - I can't understand Italian, but I like listening to it) There's always this, which contains both versions of the album - for the price (and the price that Afterhours albums tend to command on import), it's quite a bargain.

Hmmm, that's certainly worth a look, thanks, silence.
I also notice that the special edition reissue of "Hai paura del buio?" is now listed as "currently available." Good thing I got my shipping confirmation already!

Yeah, the street date is today, Amazon sent it out a couple of days early - should have mine either tomorrow or Thursday. Autorip doesn't seem to be playing nicely for me though, wondering if it's country-locked (there can be a 48 hour delay with those sometimes, so I remain hopeful).

I think it might be country-locked, I've read ina couple of places that their auto-rip is for Italy0based customers only. I won't be getting my copy till around the 20th.

Right. Blasting through it at the moment. Not got to Mark's yet, as frankly I have to keep stopping to replay the Afghan Whigs' track.
EDIT: Wow. Mark's duet with Manuel is something else! Was wondering how he was going to tackle Pelle, he's really stretching his voice there...

"Video unavailable in your country", but the description (theirs and yours!) would indicate that it is. It's hard to differentiate Mark's and Manuel's voices in that, it's like he's found a whole new range! (EDIT: certainly sounds like Manuel's finishing every other line in the chorus for example)
BTW, the Afghan Whigs track is only Greg with Manuel, none of the rest of the band are involved. Greg's voice in fine form too..

There is slightly difference in how Lanegan finishes words.. but I'm amazed how good he is... and also surprised that vid is available at least for once in my country

Really looking forward to getting my copy and hearing this, but now I'm kinda glad it hasn't arrived yet, as I'm totally obsessed with streaming the new Afghan Whigs album.

I just have to add that I get chills when Lanegan sings '' quando lui ti tocca''.. such a gentile, fragile and bitter way of expressing your crave for someone...

Sorry if this isn't a good thread for this, but where's a good place to start with Afterhours? I've been meaning to check them out for years.

There's a live double CD (1 disc electric, 1 acoustic) entitled Siam Tre Piccoli Porcellin which covers most of the best bits of their early records, Ballate Per Piccole Iene/Ballads For Little Hyenas (I prefer the Italian original version but it's really a matter of taste) is the most straightforward one.

Is this really Mark?! Holy shit they sound amazing together. I've always loved his upper range but this is unlike anything he's done before.
