White Stripes - Get Behind Me Satan No. 2 - No Memory The Animals, both the 10" and the LP And my daughter wanted Strange Days.
We got everything we wanted except for Lanegan. I'm hoping some shops put them online soon...

2 on eBay already, 1 at £15, 1 at £40. (EDIT: and now 1 for 0.99) Getting pretty sick of this farce every year. Why don't they release stuff to order so that everyone who wants one can get them and scalpers get cut out of the equation? Exactly. I've been saying this for years now. Pre-order but make people collect in-store. Still gets people through the doors of record stores and also means everyone gets what they want. Easy.

The rules as they stand are pretty dumb, and the backlash that started last year seems to be growing rather than receding. There's a lot more "ooh, don't go to that horrible nasty eBay" messages from artists, labels and shops - and that's mostly because a) The artists and labels deliberately press as few records as possible so that demand severely outstrips supply; and b) Stores are hamstrung by not being allowed to sell any RSD product online until 0001 this Saturday, giving the flippers a whole week of almost zero competition. Johnny Marr has announced today that he plans to do a repress of his RSD exclusive single as soon as possible to placate disappointed fans, and this is (quite rightly) being lauded, although this - by RSD rules - will exclude said artist from participating next year. Any stores breaking ranks to sell their very expensively unsold stock (a HUGE downside to not allowing customers to pre-order, especially for smaller stores who have to take a gamble in order to keep afloat) before this weekend will also be excluded from participating next year, and blocking record stores from selling records while moaning about private individuals making a quick 10 quid is a bit odd to say the least. It's a great thing, and it has done - and continues to do - great things for an industry on its arse. but there needs to be so many changes. Anyway. On the plus side, Piccadilly records didn't sell out of either the single on its own (£8), or the boxset of all 7 singles (£60.00), so unless there's a splurge this week they'll be available on Friday night/Saturday morning. I guess that the other usual online suspects (Rough Trade, Banquet, Norman etc) will have one or two stashed away. And you never know, Heavenly might find a stray box knocking about somewhere like they did with the Cold Molly 10"

Will they be available online do you think, or just in-store?

In store until this Friday evening, then online from one minute past midnight on Saturday. The online thing becomes a bit of a bunfight in itself as a lot of these go straight to eBay as well - best bet is to go through the list (Picc Recs will have a full list of available stuff earlier that evening), prioritise what you want and grab & pay for the grade A stuff individually first, then go back later and try to get the rest as putting stuff in your cart doesn't reserve it - you can be the first to select something, but if someone pays for it first, it's gone. It's probably best to set up an account before the night

I stopped in a small record store in Dublin on Saturday and was surprised they had a lot of copies, at least 6 or 7 when I got there.

I live in the US, just so happened to be there at the time of RSD and figured I'd see what the store had. Almost missed it due to not knowing the album art.

Piccadilly is no longer listing the individual 7", but they do still have the box set (at 60 pounds, I'd rather just chance the 7" on ebay).

Banquet, Rough Trade and Norman Records still have it. And then there's unreleased label stock. No need to be overpaying just yet

Ah well. Only 75 titles sold there out of a total of 299 (from a total UK selection of about 620) shows how mad it all is for stores to get it right.

Not too unpredictably, Rough Trade's site has crashed a bit. Got the Moomins single from Picc Recs though.

Keep checking Heavenly's store, they've been adding the anniversary 7"s (not this one yet) one by one.

Finally got a copy of off of Discogs today...for a whopping $47 with shipping to Seattle. The US dollar converted to the pound is brutal!

Lol. Some people will pay anything to get what they want. It's people like that who allow the gouging to go on.

It's people like that who allow the gouging to go on. Uh, no... it's the ridiculously low numbers of these limited RSD releases that allow the gouging to go on.
