I wonder if they'll have it in the US, or if it's just a UK/European thing again.

Personally i'm amazed, because my gf and i have a had a running joke since september (based on a hilarious Billy Connolly bit) in which i yell out for "Needle of Death" during a Lanegan show.

Yeah....but last year, for the Moby 7 inch, it wasn't that hard to buy on Ebay or Discogs for us lowly US citizens. Mark clearly has a larger fan base in the UK/EU and it seems like Heavenly Records, Mark Lanegan and Duke Garwood have a good thing going. Curious why Vagrant didn't release A Thousand Miles....Maybe Mark wants better US representation....which is why we get the shaftola!
Now that I think about it, I've had to pay out the nose for the "tour only" vinyl...which is mostly sold on the UK/EU tours.
Mark hates Americans...there...I said it!

Should be easy enough to get hold of - RSD changed their rules this year so there are fewer titles in larger numbers (500 is the absolute minimum now) and more stores (another 27 have been added) with fairer distribution so it's not like a few big stores getting cleaned out by the eBayers while the little stores - the whole point of the day - get nothing.
AFAIK, it's a pair of collaborative covers (both are Bert Jansch songs). Not sure if they're from the BP sessions or their new one though.

I have it on good authority that this is split record. Why? I am the lucky recipient of a 7 inch test press delivered quite unexpectedly today from a very kind and generous soul.
Needle of Death is Lanegan's song and Sweet As a Sunday Morning is a Garwood Song. Not sure if Duke is playing on Lanegan's track, but it doesn't sound like Duke's style of guitar playing.
Both songs are covers originally written by the late Bert Jansch. Both songs are phenomenal and Mark's version will make a happy person cry. If you like Blues Run The Game, then you are going to love Needle of Death.
It appears that there is remastered version of Bert's first record that is getting released on April 13th, a week before RSD next month, so get out there for RSD and grab that as well while you are grabbing this 7 inch.

Slight update:
This is part of a series of 7x7"s featuring Heavenly's roster. Only 300 of each single will be available separately, the other 200 are numbered box sets.

the moby 7" was widely available in US, i saw it in at least 2 stores As with a lot of RSD stuff (especially now with pressing queues such that people'll have to get in line now for next year's event) is that x amount gets put out for the day, and then the rest appear later. Then there's "RSD First", where stuff gets sold on the day and then released a month later anyway. And lest we forget, Heavenly sold a load of Cold Molly 10"s through their site soon after RSD anyway

2 on eBay already, 1 at £15, 1 at £40. (EDIT: and now 1 for 0.99)
There's plenty still in the shops... They'll be on sale all week until Friday when they get taken off the shelves and go on Mail Order at midnight Fri/Sat.

They'll be on sale all week until Friday when they get taken off the shelves and go on Mail Order at midnight Fri/Sat. Didn't see any in Edinburgh, after queuing from just before 8am for 2 hours. Tried the only 2 shops doing RSD. Getting pretty sick of this farce every year. Why don't they release stuff to order so that everyone who wants one can get them and scalpers get cut out of the equation? Did get the likes of Bowie 2 7" singles, Garbage, Citizen Dick (aka Pearl Jam from Singles film of the 90s doing Touch Me I'm Dick), Grant Nicholas, Robert Plant, Stranglers/Dionne Warwick, and Ramones/Husker Du.
