I preordered here and just got an email saying the release was pushed back to 9/18. Bummer Edit - the website only says the LP was pushed back but not the CD. Maybe it's only this one retailer having an issue with the distributor?

Vinyl delays are pretty much inevitable these days - too many cash-cow reissues, not enough machines...

Still nothing for the cd on Amazon other than the import. Weird considering it's release is a week away.

Didn't this happen with Faith No More? It seems that Ipecac's EU manufacturing & distribution (Amazon UK have a guaranteed release date delivery for next Friday for all formats) is better than their U.S. one.
It's worth waiting for, if it's any help.

I got the same email from cd universe. Is it just them, or is it everybody?

I'm hoping the CD isn't delayed, I saw on a few sites where the vinyl specifically was pushed back but nothing on the CD. I ordered the CD from rough trade and haven't received any delay emails yet

Damn, if that's the case I wonder if they'll provide a courtesy download for people who only pre-ordered the record.

Well I don't like the vinyl delay but good things come to those who wait...meanwhile, Chelsea's Abyss vinyl is tiding me over; it's an absolute mindfuck. Additional bonus, John Congleton's production is perfect; that's a guy who knows what he's doing at the controls.

Damn, if that's the case I wonder if they'll provide a courtesy download for people who only pre-ordered the record. I emailed Ipecac - or I should say Merchaye/Revolve - a day or two ago, basically asking that question. No reply yet.

Available to buy here in Sweden (Gothenburg) today!
So far I think it´s really great, doesn´t sound like demos at all. Fits nicely between Field Songs and Here Comes That Weird Chill!

For anyone concerned about vinyl delays, I just spoke to my local record shop who have received their vinyl today! (In the UK)

Yeah, I think there's no problem with Europe - Amazon have had them in stock for a couple of weeks as they've been guaranteeing Release Date Delivery for ages.
North American record pressing plants (all 3 or 4 of them - the last one in Canada closed last month) have been tits-up for a couple of years now, United are accepting no new clients at all and one of the others (I forget the name) is just crap. The bigger labels are using plants in the Czech Republic where possible, this is just too expensive for others. No idea why CDs are affected though unless Ipecac didn't anticipate demand or numbers were restricted for other reasons.

Got the CD today. Wow. Fell instantly in love with it. It would fit more or less seamless in the time where it "belonged", between Field Songs and Weird Chill. Some songs have familiar melodies which were used in later songs. But the overall tone on the CD is just incredible. A Suite for Dying Love is the best song I have heard in years. Gonna spin that CD until I get sick of it

Picked myself up a copy today, couldn't wait for the vinnnyl. Silly me - I'm in Portland, my CD player is back home in Seattle. Guess I'll be cranking it up soon as I'm home tomorrow night.

This is an excellent addition to his catalog--can't believe these have been shelved for the last 13 years. Blind...man what a tune

Listening to the album for the first time now. It's good. Very good! It sounds like it a continuation of the direction Mark was taking on Field Songs - less blues based, more roots and country based songwriting. It's a great album.
EDIT: Really getting into High Life and A Suite For Dying Love. High Life, to my ears, is probably the most desolate and haunting song I've heard from Mark since Hotel and Praying Ground from Scraps At Midnight. I'll give it some time, but this could be one of his best albums.

Hi everyone, I mentioned a couple of years ago these songs might be released. Well, Mark decided now is the time. Randall Jamail Thanks - really enjoying hearing these tracks.
