Agrio is a duo from Madrid, Spain and using a "what if..." methodology they write instrumental songs that they send later to a revolving cast of their talented and generous friends so they can add their magic. With this in mind they sent music to MARK LANEGAN, Enablers frontman PETE SIMONELLI & to SCOTT MCCLOUD from Girls Against Boys, Soulside and so much more. 'El Amigo Americano' is the result of these collaborations, 10 tracks of some of the most beautifully striking music around. The work with Mark Lanegan and Pete Simonelli were originally released as two vinyl EPs and Scott McCloud as a digital EP. EP 1 - EP one 'La Murga Ep' with Mark Lanegan was their debut on feb. 2020 EP2 - followed it that same autumn with The Thin Man EP featuring Pete Simonelli (Enablers). Both were originally released on vinyl via the San Francisco based label Broken Clover Records. These records sold out fast. EP 3 - "Repeat to Infinity EP" (digital only), with Scott McCloud's (Girls Against Boys, New Wet Kojak, Paramount Styles) on voice and guitar. nope. was never released. cant buy it anywhere. crazy how long it dragged on for if parasite was recorded in 1996. jack johnson and norah jones werent really established until 2002 or so. FB link didnt work for me, but Dana Kletter has public profile and indeed this beautiful song was shared April 2022. Guess we were all still grieving and missed this. So sorry, IS this available for purchase somewhere beyond just being streamed on SC?

more info on this album that never happened: katebush.proboards.com/thread/2590/nick-drake-tribute-albumNick Drake tribute album Vedder, Grohl to pay tribute to Nick Drake LONDON (Billboard) – Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder, Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters and Norah Jones are among the acts confirmed for a tribute album to influential English singer-songwriter Nick Drake, who died in 1974. The set will be released by musician Jack Johnson's Brushfire Records, and Johnson also will also perform on the album. The announcement was made during the MidemNet music industry conference in Cannes, France, by David Schulhof, whose company, EverGreen Copyrights, controls the rights to Drake's work. The recording process was filmed for release as part of a DVD package. It will also include the late actor Heath Ledger's version of the song "Black Eyed Dog," filmed in late 2007 for a multimedia installation about Drake but never officially released. Drake was little known when he died of a drug overdose at age 26. But his influence has mushroomed in the ensuing decades, and his profile received an astronomical boost when his song "Pink Moon" was used in a Volkswagen ad in 2000. Mon Jan 19 2009 news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20090120/music_nm/us_drake;_ylt=AigdKDnR67KuwmB0YfO7EQyXExkF 1997 Nick Drake tribute album? December: There are rumours that Kate could be appearing on a tribute album to the late English singer-songwriter Nick Drake released in 1998. An album of this kind was rumoured to feature Kate a few years ago but never surfaced. The album may be produced by Joe Boyd who was Nick's friend and producer and who has also worked with Kate when she collaborated with the Trio Bulgarka. Mark Lanegan, the singer with The Screaming Trees is said to have recorded Clothes Of Sand for this record. Brian Kennedy, Paul Buchanan (the singer with The Blue Nile) and Paul Weller are also rumoured to be involved. So far most of this information stems from an interview given by Kate St. John (ex-Dream Academy) who is said to be co-producing the tribute. A biography of Nick (who died at the age of 27 in 1974) by Patrick Humphries has just been published, the anthology Way To Blue has been reissued and a recent Irish Times article says that "there are advanced plans for a tribute album and a documentary". www.katebushnews.com/leaving.htm

did a quick search of the forum and found this. man in the shadows was pretty reliable with his intel so i have no doubt that “Clothes of Sand” is also out there. He likely recorded Parasite at the same time for the same album. Just my hypothesis. Edit to add: i overlooked that the producer credit on parasite is indeed Joe Boyd so this must be from the same album. I think a lot of Nick Drake's work would loose it's charm and mysticism if someone else sang them, because his voice really had that effect, for me at least. I thought Beck's version of Parasite was excellent, and Pink Moon was OK if not wonderful. Should also be pointed out that Mr. Lanegan has already recorded Clothes of Sand for a Joe Boyd-produced Nick tribute album (other artists reportedly included Kate Bush and Paul Weller), but it's not looking too likely to see a release onewhiskey.proboards.com/thread/779/name-cover-song-love-mark?page=8

I'd be interested in the Stitch In Time EP, but I doubt any of these will be released as stand alone vinyl I would like the bonus LP as well as the 56 page book, but man I did the conversion and it's $670 canadian and that's before shipping. I am guessing shipping won't be cheap so I didnt proceed to that step. I've been a huge Dulli fan since Blackberry Belle era...but man I think I will pass on this.

have to admit, your strong voice caught me off guard at first, but I love it. Great job on the 4 songs. I like your interpretation of the wildflowers line as "back to the river." Even though it is not what Mark sings, it works very well.

North American fans: I Found this for a reasonable price and pre-ordered from cduniverse.com www.cduniverse.com/productinfo.asp?pid=12583873&style=musicI actually received a 15% off mailing list promo from them so i checked for lanegan. It's listed on their site as $20.99 but on sale for $17.42....so with 15% off was $14.81 for a double LP. Doesn't seem right but I preordered and fingers crossed no issues. After shipping and converting to Canadian dollars is $31.22

'Sister' and 'Deepest Shade' are the standouts on the Stone Pony' record IMHO. The 'Knuckles' vinyl has been a mess for me. I decided to order a second and, hoping that Rough Trade would bundle the shipping, made a new order before they sold out since they were unresponsive to my inquiries about adding one to my existing order. They declined to bundle them so had to pay huge shipping to USA twice. Whatever, I'll take the hit. But upon arrival, both 'Knuckles' records were slightly warped even though one was shipped with the other 2 releases and the other was shipped solo. Maybe it's a manufacturing flaw or they were stacked wrong in storage. It doesn't affect play but still miffed after paying almost $100 for one record. Then, after all that, the sound quality is not good; it lacks low end and is fatiguing. Oh well, it's a great performance and track list plus it is the last of the lifetime concert pressings so I'm happy to have it. Geez do I miss looking forward to the next show. RIP Mark. I don't have a lot of spare time but when I get some I'll try to make a recording of 'Knuckles' too, despite the quality issues. thanks for doing this 112. I converted to mp3 and will place in the download section. I don't think i noticed deepest shade was on the tracklist until you mentioned it....great tune

it's nice to see that people have received theirs already. I ordered mine from amazon.ca on Feb 20 and it still hasn't shipped. Update from amazon 2 days ago says it should arrive between march 7 and march 10. Guess it can't ship to Canada or something??? Got a shipping notification about 30 minutes after making that post

justinhampton.com/"Visual Feast" (author: Justin Hampton) has been in the works for a while now, but casual fans may have missed it. Mostly tour posters, but in one of Justin's updates about the book the author mentions that he writes about an event he attended with Mark Lanegan and Jeff Fielder. Also the Lanegan chapter is 18 pages (I'm guessing it is mostly artwork). There is a free preview of the book here: bit.ly/VisualFeastPreview And yes, it is a bit pricey.

Ultimately, I decided to pass on buying these. Returned to the webstore a few times adding them to my basket, then backed out each time. Just too much.
I truly appreciate the board members who bought extra copies of these live recordings at shows over the years and shipped them out to me and others.

If it helps too, Iman also sells the book through her Ebay Uk page, under the name Klaggster. She is quite responsive through that via the messaging feature and will arrange dedictations, autographs to the book if you require them (she may also do this via Bandcamp, but I've not used that myself for this book). Book looks like trash. And the fact it was done right after Mark passed…. Without his input. Looks like imgur snags with Lanegan lyrics on top. And the misspelling “Darl Mark”? Pass. Save your god damned money. Wow, that is inaccurate and disrespectful to both Mark and Iman and you might want to educate yourself on how this book came about. Mark worked closely with Iman on this project. Mark was a fan of hers and purchased her books prior to working on this with her. Make no mistake, this book was released with his input and blessing. I know we are all still grieving in our own ways, so I hope you come to realize how hurtful your words are to myself and others.

Someone could probably reach out to Barrett Martin to ask about Last Words. I think it was his label that originally released it.

I reached out to the author on instagram when my order was delayed from Norman Records due to a "legal issue." She said it would be resolved and it would ship soon, and it did. Received it in Canada a week or so ago, quite promptly after it shipped.
The author may have some extra stock she is holding onto for this type of situation. She was selling them on ebay and bandcamp. Reach out to her on instagram ASAP, she was friendly and responded quickly when I contacted her. Hopefully she will have one for anyone who's order got cancelled.

Not sure how many visit the main site these days, but raeni did post a message there last week.
raeni, if you read this, I hope you are doing okay. Myself, well...I finished reading Devil in a Coma in January, a month or so before he passed, and from it learned that he had ancestors in NB and PEI, Canada (where I am from.) He pretty well ignored Canada when touring throughout his career, but I truly believe he intended to visit or tour here eventually. Would have liked to welcome him.
